There are many ranches out in Wyoming, etc whose acreage is counted in the thousands of acres. I could buy a 4 wheel drive truck and drive it all over the 10,000 acre ranch for 50 years and never need to register it.

The point is, you can buy and own a car and never have to buy insurance. You can't live and avoid having to pay insurance with the Obama plan.

Unless you are one of the privileged few who receive a waiver. The waivers in themselves infuriate me. Pass a mandate (aka law) where some individuals are allowed to be excluded while the rest of us must comply is utter BS to me.

These waivers were put into the bill just for this reason. If switching to the new rules are difficult for a company and would cause undue stress on them then they can receive a short term waiver just for more time. It's kinda like if your car fails it's inspection. They stick an orange sticker on your window and it's similar to a thirty day waiver to get it fixed and retested. That's not allowing the person to just say "**** the law", it's just simply giving them an extra thirty days to comply. Why that pisses you off I have no idea.

Were you under the impression that these waivers were permanent or something? Or that they exempted these companies from offering insurance to employees?

It appears that the ruling doesn't even talk about the Obama mandate per se, it specifies Virginia as not having a right to sue. That's pretty much where this ruling starts and where it stops.

I think this is very interesting for a whole host of reasons.
Just show me how you can possibly opt out of emergent care. You get hurt, have no insurance, we all pay. Tell how we don't.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Doesn't this more or less say that the state had no right to sue the Fed? But it's ok the other way around?

Well, if you're a farmer, middle class, or own any good plot of land with a woods, or a backlot that no one owns but has dirt roads going through it, as if there was previous construction. perhaps almost no roads are private in 'your' area, but in states like Texas, they are quite common.
