Unless something has changed, most "full auto" one sees in the hands of civilians aren't military select fire weapons but modified closed bolt types, most of which are pull-the-trigger-once-and-the-weapon-fires-until-empty. Pretty useless actually.

I don't know if it was full auto or not; early reports suggested it was, but I haven't seen confirmation.

Most people don't shoot full auto weapons very well at all. Instead of using short controllable bursts they try to spray like a garden hose and end up wasting lots of ammo on air and inanimate objects. Unless he was far more skilled than I would expect, I don't think full auto vs semi-auto would make a lot of difference in how many were killed. Now, if we were talking about a firing into a massive and densely packed crowd, like the crowds trying to enter a stadium or auditorium for a big game or concert, that might be different.

Otherwise, where most thugs are the shooter, full auto = full retard = lots of missed shots.

All I know is there are 4 grieving families that my heart goes out to, I'm not sure if it's the media and we hear about them more, or if it's happening more. But in either case, it's just sad that that innocent people should be put through the pain, agony and grieving of such senseless killings.

I think you have seen the discussion of a demonstration i did years ago with a 9MM subgun but with 10 BEGLIAN 8 (IPSC Targets) at 20 yards try as a might I could not "kill" all ten with a full auto spray of 32 bullets (the gun had no three round burst position) no matter how careful I was but I could do center of mass semi auto in less than three seconds and head shots in about 4 and still had 22 rounds left
