On the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has organized a nationwide "Muslims for Life" campaign with the American Red Cross and Carter BloodCare to collect 10,000 bags of donated blood from Americans of all walks of life.

This is pretty cool. The didn't mention it on the news last night and I haven't heard about it on radio broadcasts. I'm O-neg, so I try to donate as often as possible anyway, but I would encourage all who are able to go ahead and donate.

I remember when I tried to donate blood last year the doctor couldn't find the vein, it was creepy.

I always cramp up after giving blood so I always asked for them to draw from my right arm (I'm left handed). After years of having blood drawn and donating blood the vein in my right arm never "stands at attention" when they're setting the needle so I'm forced to use the left arm now.

Ew. Tessy and I share the same blood type. Anyways, I donate every 4 months, so it is probably about time I do it again and it won't be a bad time to do it apparently.

It's a pretty common blood type. Apparently it was the "original" blood type, with all others deviating from it.
