Yep, and if they're smart they forgot everything they heard the moment they walked out the door of those meetings. Siding with the ENEMIES of this country, including the current resident of the White House would be the quickest way to ensure they are all one term legislators.

infrastructure construction, domestic energy r&d, and a serious second look at our trade agreements are all components of what it is going to take to get America back to work. if a manufacturer can import tariff free from a nation with no OSHA and no emissions regulations, that is where the jobs will go. for free access to our markets, global manufacturers should have to observe the same OSHA and emissions requirements that American manufacturers are bound by. otherwise, tariffs should be enacted. in this way, we export humane working conditions and corporate responsibility globally. in my opinion, that's the way to go.

Oh yeah! It definitely speaks for itself. It speaks volumes.

Got anything, like, after May 2010?

Sure, the unemployment rate has fallen from 9.6% in May 2010 to 9.1% today. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf

My gut feeling tells me the GOP will not be lifting a finger to advance anything Obama proposes even if it is the best idea in the world. They have sucessfully filibustered and basicly shut the country down from doing just about anything, at every turn. and I see no reason they would actually do their job. Not this close to the election cycle.

It is important for the GOP to keep the nation in a nosedive. They believe that is their ticket to get their party back in power. I believe they are counting on the people to, once again, forget how the GOP got us in this quagmire to begin with as well as forgetting that since the voters gave the GOP a bump, last election, things have only gotten worse.

    They may be right.

I think after the debt ceiling standoff, they'll be a bit more willing to work with Democrats... i can see them working with Obama, for instance.

what I can't see is Pelosi or Reid working with them... especially Reid.

How do you explain the unemployment rate going up since Obama took office?

Obama is keeping the country in a nose dive, for them.

No wonder they've not got anything done, what with being off since April.
