I recall many on the left screaming that Bush needed to stop the Swiftboaters attacks on Kerry. Obviously some thought a president could do something then.

Unlike conservatives, who take personal responsibility for everything they do.

Hoffa is an embarrassment to his party, no doubt about it, just like Palin and Angle should be (but strangely aren't) to theirs.

The Left can never fully accept responsibility, even in this Hoffa case, because of their "whatabout" reflex, as in this case of mentioning two politicians who have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic of discussion.

The original post of this thread an after-the-fact "whatabout" that clearly implicates the Left's response to Palin and Angle ("the next time some nutcase shoots at or otherwise assaults a Republican / Tea Party supporter"), but nice try.

You miss the point then, and prove cpwill's case with you one post here...Repubs didn't come out and call for civility, then in the same day break that call themselves with NO reprisal, that was libs.

"after the fact".... what the heck are you talking about here? The only way to talk about what Hoffa said, is to wait until he says it, right?

"Palin".... Get over it...She isn't running for anything. I think it is funny as hell that she gives libs such heartburn.

    "Angle".... Who?

("the next time some nutcase shoots at or otherwise assaults a Republican / Tea Party supporter"), but nice try.
So let me get this straight....Liberals can use this sort of rhetoric all day long when some nut case shoots a politician, however, should it have been a rebup that got shot in the head, then you would have been all silent?

    Noted.

Hoffa had every right and even a responsibility to ask his members to show up on election day, the republicans and thier loyal followers onkly want civility when it is to thier advantage. The repubs are out to break the middle class and poor and one of the ways that they are focused on is to continue thier onslaught on union collective bargaining rights, hopefully other union leaders take up Hoffa's call to battle and mobilize thier members to get out and vote

The person I was responding to was accusing liberals of not taking responsibility - instead shifting the focus to things conservatives do. Well, the inverse is exactly what this thread is all about, including:

"Palin".... Get over it...She isn't running for anything. I think it is funny as hell that she gives libs such heartburn.

    "Angle".... Who?
Conservatives ignore or dismiss the faults of their own leaders just as much as liberals. It's ridiculous to act otherwise.

I think you have this 100% backwards...Hoffa can say what ever he wants, its a free country, for the moment. However, don't you even try and say that his rhetoric wouldn't be called out by every liberal if said by say a Palin, or Angle, or any republican.

The repubs are out to break the middle class and poor
Oh please lay out that plan would you?

one of the ways that they are focused on is to continue thier onslaught on union collective bargaining rights
Not for private unions, I haven't seen one governmental attack at any state level by a republican bent on going after private union bargaining. The states like WI, and NJ that were asking public sector unions to adjust their pension systems, was distorted, and blown out of proportion by lib, union hacks as usual.

hopefully other union leaders take up Hoffa's call to battle and mobilize thier members to get out and vote
When another Kenneth Gladney gets stomped by union thugs, will you then denounce this "call to battle" language crap? Or will you find a way to blame the victim of union thuggery?

Except we are not talking about the faults of conservatives over the past decade in this thread. What we are talking about is liberal/union thuggery, and your insistence that every time libs slip up and reveal who they really are, must be blamed on repubs, or at the very least excused with the all famous 'see, they do it too'....

    pfft...get real please.
