So completely correct. The Democrats and Republicans are simply beholden to (slightly) different corporate masters. Partisan fools are quick to note the embarrassing kickback scandals of the opposite "team," while downplaying those of their favored party. If there is one truly bipartisan thing happening in DC (and elsewhere), it's corruption. Oh - and sex scandals.

You know what ?? I just want a higher grade of politician …. this goes on all the time, in both parties, but damn, when you get it as blatant as this ….. well it just makes one wonder how stupid are the officials we elect ?? Or is it that they just think the public is so stupid they can't add 2+2 ?? Hmmm well seeing they have one here deflecting this by pointing the the defense budget items .. I guess maybe they do.

Kinda looks like this company took off during the bush administration. Specifically.

(February 2006 - October 2006: In February, Solyndra raises its first round of venture financing, worth $10.6 million from CMEA Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and U.S. Venture Partners. In October, Argonaut Venture Capital, an investment arm of George Kaiser, invests $17 million into Solyndra. Madrone Capital Partners, an investment arm of the Walton family, invests $7 million. Those investments are part of a $78.2 million fund.)

    And.

(December 2006: Solyndra applies for a loan guarantee under the 1703 program.)

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration restructured a half-billion dollar federal loan to a troubled solar energy company in such a way that private investors — including a fundraiser for President Barack Obama — moved ahead of taxpayers for repayment in case of a default, government records show.

Others can try and spin this whatever way they want but the wheels are falling off everywhere.

Just another sad example of what Obama really is. He came from corruption, was backed by corruption and has now shown to be engaging in it using the power of the presidency. This is hardly suprising.

This is a combination of political payoff and obamas lust for green energy and jobs. He wants this stuff so bad that he can’t see the facts in front of his nose. This proves he is just another crooked politician and he is also a fool. I hope we survive his one term.

we should absolutely be funding energy research, as oil is going to eventually run out, and having a replacement or replacements is our best chance to avoid the war over remaining resources.

some startups are going to fail. if funding a failed startup bothers conservatives, then perhaps more of the research should be done publicly.
