RNC Chairman: Party Debt Is Worse Than Numbers Sheet Shows

This is filed under the "You Just Can't Make This Sh*t Up" heading

RNC Chairman: Party Debt Is Worse Than Numbers Sheet Shows | FoxNews.com

RNC Is $23 Million in Debt, Says Chairman Reince Priebus - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

On one side, we have the democrats bowing to the banks again and failing come up with a plan to bring this fiscal runaway train under control.

Then on the other side we have a party chomping at the bit to make hay with it by claiming to be the more fiscally responsible choice, better suited to get the economy going again...

    ... just one problem...

They are almost $24 million in debt.

I believe it is best to get out all the facts as we know them associated with our financial position," Priebus said in a statement. "To date, the committee has approximately $23 million in debt: $15 million in loans, and $8 million owed to vendors."
$15 million in loans? Loans? Backed by what assets? With what plan to pay it back? How do you sell this to future and returning donors? Are they now going to be the party of small change?

In keeping with full disclosure, I personally hate political parties of all stripes... so far, just to save on the kneejerk ignorant personal attacks.

Maybe they'll vote a Democrat as their party chairman and then blame all that debt all on him.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Maybe Obama will give them a bailout after Bern-Yankme prints some more money.

File this under "be careful what you wish for". Republicans were all or superpacs and unlimited, anonymous donations. Now, instead of donating to the RNC (and thereby revealing their graft ... err, gifts) big donors are giving their bucks anonymously to third-party partisans.

    Some funny replies!

But seriously... Who would give these guys a loan, and...

How do you run on ethics and spending reform when the reason you're in debt is because of financial scandals within your own party?

I mean, is this the freakin poster child for "WE ARE ALL BEING HAD"?

Yes, they Republicans need everyone to donate as much change as possible so that they can continue class warfare against the middle and lower classes and continue this redistribution of wealth to the already wealthy.
Ted Cruz is the dumbest person alive.

You mean like the GOP have done with the economy at large? Funny how the party of "fiscal responsibility" are now the party of big debt and deficits and running from the bill.

What has happened to the economy is far from only being the republicans fault. Yet it is worth noting the irony of the party of traditional values slogan Is struggling with a fundamental value they try to take the highground on.

If it weren't for that, it would hardly be worth pointing out as there is failure across party lines on this. No better or worse than the other.
