RNC Chairman: Party Debt Is Worse Than Numbers Sheet Shows | FoxNews.com

RNC Is $23 Million in Debt, Says Chairman Reince Priebus - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

On one side, we have the democrats bowing to the banks again and failing come up with a plan to bring this fiscal runaway train under control.

Then on the other side we have a party chomping at the bit to make hay with it by claiming to be the more fiscally responsible choice, better suited to get the economy going again...

    ... just one problem...

They are almost $24 million in debt.

$15 million in loans? Loans? Backed by what assets? With what plan to pay it back? How do you sell this to future and returning donors? Are they now going to be the party of small change?

In keeping with full disclosure, I personally hate political parties of all stripes... so far, just to save on the kneejerk ignorant personal attacks.
They don't care now that they have the Citizens United decision.

No no, not a bait thread at all. Included two sources from each POV, and the facts as released by RNC chairman.

    Your response scares me.

If I were a republican my response to financial irregularities, and in party scandal would be outrage and a demand to have the idiots undermining your core principles publicly ousted. It's called integrity. And it's a traditional value.

Both sides have citizens united... The parties aren't the big winners there... The corporations are. Party is irrelevant to that case.. Beyond who pretends to support or oppose it

    That is sooooo funny.

And the GOP isn't the more fiscally conservative party. They have ran up more debt than the dems, and we have had more recessions when a republican is president.

I really don't think that will make a difference. If PACs start funding all the gop contenders, then they could potentially lack leadership and direction as a party. PACs won't be able to dole out money to ensure big wins in many districts for example. Also, so PACs tend to focus on candidates that have no chance in hell to win. Leadership is important.

How do you run on ethics and spending reform when the reason you're in debt is because of financial scandals within your own party?

I mean, is this the freakin poster child for "WE ARE ALL BEING HAD"?
I completely agree. I hope the dems point this out, and the fact that they are historically not fiscally responsible.

Pointing out the cold facts is baiting? Your head is buried deep in that sand.

I am curious how easily they can fix this and pay off the loans, or are they facing long term problems like lack of donations?

Do like Reagan, the Bush's and Rick Perry in Texas... borrow from Social Security (the first 3) and do voodoo economics after taking handouts from people you public denounce (perry).

They won't raise revenue streams, and will simply cut their way out of it.
