AdamT - if I may interject - RiverDad just pointed out your misstatement. You said that "iTunes is projected to contribute $13 billion to Apple's profit by 2013", but in fact iTunes is projected to contribute $13 billion in revenue (according to the analyst).

Profit = revenue - costs, so profit might only be something like $2 billion (or some other number, I don't know).

    That's all.

But with the invention of the free antivirus program, that issue has been all but halted.

In December 2009, Microsoft had 90% of the personal computer market share. Oh yea, he did WONDERS for Apple.

Actually, he's right: Jobs was an excellent CEO who was definitely worth his pay (if not more), because he made Apple extremely profitable. And that's what a good CEO is supposed to do.

And he did it by always successfully marketing his wares, albeit with a powerful reality distortion field. He created a cult where people bought Apple products not because they were technically better than the competition for their price (they never were), but because he created the impression that they were. This is identical to what politicians like rick perry or sarah palin do, and, of course, in dumbed down country like the US, it always works.

It's 100% true that Jobs never actually innovated in any area. He was merely a good copycat. He was 100000000000000% overrated in terms of innovation.

It's also true that Jobs was a scumbag. He bullied his employees early on, and outsourced the manufacturing of Apple products to Third World factories that treated workers like garbage, and didn't care.

But alas, being an effective entrepreneur and a decent individual and/or an innovator do not necessarily go hand and hand. Sinaloan cartel leader Joaquin Guzman Loera is one of the world's richest entrepreneurs, and he's not particularly known for his compassion.
