Earthquake On US East Coast

Fox News is reporting that it's all Obama's fault.
 
Citizens on the Left Coast are complaining that earthquakes are unfairly distributed around the US, and are demanding Obama do something about it.
 
I bet Obama is already commissioning a committee to write a statement about the lean of the monument.
 
It's been downgraded to the original value of 5.8.

Yep, and they got it right. MSNBC, however, is lying through their teeth trying to spin this against Bush. While Huffington Post has a piece on how the Washington Monument is racist and Media Matters blames Rupert Murdoch for his weather ray.
 
Nice to see those of you in the east get a taste of what we endure out west. Fortunately 5.9 or 6.0 probably won't kill anyone of destroy much.

DoJ vows an investigation into the downgrade. Says that they wanted to project a stronger quake to show that the east coast was a tough as the west coast when it comes to earthquakes.

We don't get those here. (I'm in WA). You're welcome to keep them. We do get nasty fall storms though. Late October gets exciting around here.
 
I felt it up in New York. If the 5.8 reading holds, it will be the 2nd strongest earthquake on record in Virginia. The only stronger quake was the 5.9 quake that occurred on May 31, 1897.
 
Fox News is reporting almost no damage but wide spread over ractions all over the place, it's clear that people are not used to dealing with a quake.
 
One of the things about earthquakes that's frightening is the sound as it approaches...like a freaking freight train coming through your living room.
