Obama wants to lower worker payroll taxes: Republicans are saying no!!

What? I thought republicans wanted to lower your tax burden, but now, LOL!, now they don't want Obama to lower your payroll taxes because they want to lower thr rich's taxes more. How Sweet it is!!! LMAO!!

"Normally, workers pay 6.2 percent of their income into a Social Security fund, with employers paying a matching 6.2 percent.
But this year, workers' share has been cut a full 2 percentage points. That means an extra $1,000 in the pocket of a taxpayer who is earning $50,000 this year, up to a total savings of $2,136 for those who make $106,800 or more -- the threshold beyond which earnings are not taxed for Social Security.

The president wants that tax cut extended by another year,....."

"Some congressional Republicans, meanwhile, are vowing to oppose another temporary payroll tax cut, even as they pursue other tax cuts that would affect far fewer -- and far wealthier -- Americans."
"Their calculation: that voters will see Republican tax-cutting efforts as giveaways to special interests, while Democrats fight against them for tax cuts that would actually put dollars in the pockets of families."

What do you want to bet that Republicans would oppose Obama if he came out tomorrow and said he wanted to lower income taxes for the rich?

Maybe we can have 10 threads based upon the same article all at once?

It was a one year deal to lower SS tax for all. Guess you support giving the rich extra money? For the 46% who pay no federal income tax who will draw SS, shouldn't they help keep SS afloat. Everyone who works pays the same rate.

I have to ask, I have heard this a lot, but where does this statistic that 46% of people pay no federal income tax come from? I have heard it time and time again, but never once have I seen a citation.

We do not have 46% who do not pay NO Federal taxes, in America. Are you from Canada, or S.America perhaps? Bring a citation if you are going to post that crap here. YES, you are challenged.

GOP may OK tax hike that Obama hopes to block - politics - msnbc.com

"The tax break extension they oppose is sought by President Barack Obama. Unlike proposed changes in the income tax, this policy helps the 46 percent of all Americans who owe no federal income taxes but who pay a "payroll tax" on practically every dime they earn."

Don't read much do you. You must be from Mars. See post 8. I met your challenge. So please in the future make sure you provide sources to all your statements. I won't waste time to post more links that are outthere that say the same thing. You have to understand the 46% deals with Federal INCOME Tax. There are other federal taxes such as the one being discussed for SS, There is unemployment payroll tax, etc.

The mission of the right couldn't be clearer. Block everything Obama does or wants. Screw the nation if necessary to do so. Just do whatever it takes to make Obama a one-term president.
