Re: American hikers get sentenced to 8 years.

Everyone knows that Iranian and Islamic law are irrational retardisms from a comic book! They couldn't find their way out of a paper bag and are just playing evil villain!

Im pretty much convinced if they were this dumb at this point the country wouldve collapsed a while back, by which I conclude it must be difficult to discern whether or not these folks were spies.

    HURRMMMMM... thinky think.

This is a telling statement for two reasons (the first regarding ignorance and the second bias).

    1. Do you think the CIA is in the business of recruiting "idealistic" people? No, they recruit top critical minds. Don't be ridiculous in your assessment of the CIA, you're showing your ass.

    2. Why must someone recruited by the CIA be idealistic? You presume that such a characteristic is inherent (or at least somehow relevent) in being recruited by the CIA.

Given a "Spies Like Us" scenario, as you describe, I'm still interested to hear your explanation of the female's presence.
Frankly you are a remarkably unpleasant person to talk to, so I think I'll pass.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

Umm.... actually thats precisely what a spy does is recruit people sympathetic to a 'cause' to work for him. Nice Ass...

Frankly, you have nothing to support your ridiculous opinion (except moronic assumptions), so you fail. Also, I'm glad that someone who mindlessly supports Iran finds it unpleasant to converse with me; I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why don't you consider, for a minute, the tactical and strategic risks of recruiting amateurs for secret missions. If a spy gets someone to help them, it is with a file from work or something similar (that can be passed off as non-spy work). They don't just go up to civilians and say "hey, I'm a spy and I'd like you to go on a secret FOOT mission to investigate Iran's nuclear program in the desert...". Tell me, did the CIA provide the female or were they allowed to bring a friend on the mission.

Ok, we'll do it! But our friend Sally wants to go too.

    Ok, fine. But no drinking.

Only children or the brainwashed (either anti-US or pro-Iran) could possibly buy Iran's verdict as the most likely explanation. Given a total lack of evidence... some people will still believe Iran - no matter how bizarre the claim. Amazing.

Indeed. The accrued information provided by both internal and external sources on the Iranian court/prison systems is quite robust. For example...

London-based journalist who spent four months in an Iranian jail has described how he was beaten and threatened with hanging to make him confess to being a Western spy.
Newsweek journalist tells of beatings and sex questions in Iranian jail - Telegraph

In light of such information, I have no idea why anyone would blindly accept a guilty verdict in this case.

Once again Tashah famously throws out a single event to make a judgement on an entire situation? First she tells us the information accrued on the Iranian legal system is quite robust... then links the telegraph.

Why dont you join the CIA and actually find out for us, thanks... Frankly I don't know if these people were spies or not and I don't care..

knows that Iranian and Islamic law are irrational retardisms from a comic book! They couldn't find their way out of a paper bag and are just playing evil villain!
Whatever machinations that people conceive of Iran and its culture and systems and their willingness to eat up a story that the Iranians are merely playing some sortof inquisition game because they are evil for its own sake are much more concerning to me.

    Iranian judicial process

President Ahmadinejad has stated his hope that the three would be able to prove their innocence of espionage, but stated they deserve at least some punishment for illegal entry into Iran.[25][26] [27]

On November 9, 2009, it was announced they were to be charged for espionage by Iranian authorities.[28][29]

Ahmadinejad also promised that he would ask the judiciary to treat the case with maximum lenience and expeditiously back in September but despite many public statements that a judicial proceeding is imminent there has been no hearing or movement on their case for nearly eight months.[30] The detainees have been consistently denied access to their lawyer and Swiss officials have been stonewalled since late October. On February 15, Mohammad Javad Larijani, the secretary general of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights, said it was "quite possible" the Americans had strayed into Iran by mistake.[31] Mohammad Larijani is also a brother of Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani, Chief Justice of Iran, and Ali Ardashir Larijani, Chairman of Parliament of Iran.

At the beginning of August 2010, the Iranian government reiterated its belief that the trio should stand trial for illegal entry, and announced it was considering other charges such as "intentionally acting against Iranian security". On July 31st, 2011, the 2 had their final hearing of the trial and the verdict is expected on August 7th.[32]

On August 20, 2011 the 2 hikers were sentenced to 3 years for illegal entry and 5 years for espionage, a total of 8 years.[33]

    It doesnt add up...

On another note 3 Iranians without visas were detained for accidentally crossing into the US from Mexico, after their detention they experienced a lovely judicial process by military tribunal in guantanamo bay.

    =\

    srsly...

If you weren't so habitually lazy and actually looked, you'd have seen at least three different examples.

    Three ah ah ah? Examples?

This article is also pretty vapid, meatless and uninformative... I can't tell what the **** this is. Im sorry I clicked on it, I may really know less about Iran now that Ive read it.

One piece of evidence was a videotape of an interview he conducted with a "correspondent" from the American satirical news programme, the Late Show, hosted by Jon Stewart.
    Clue number one...

Is the Telegraph a British New York Post or something?
