Or just apologuise to everyone, and have no caucus based on or singles out a specific "race" of people.

Is it because they call it by race, or because they limit by race? There are many things that limit this way but hide the name. I prefer things in the open, and a real hindered minority working to improve their people is not something we should be offended by. We are less than 80 years removed from civil rights. Things are much better, but not perfect.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Yes they are. There are real clubs that exclude minorities, but just don't name themselves such. And I don't mean the KKK.

I find it as offensive as the women's right movement, which isn't offensive at all...

That is a fascinating quote, Councilman. I hadn't heard it. Or read it. Thanks.

Exactly, as there is no reason for anyone to be offended. It is silliness that anyone is.

It's not offensive, unless you find the idea of minorities feeling they need to advance their rights more and better achieve equality as somehow offensive to you.

I find it telling. Read it again.

Black caucus: Tired of making excuses for Obama | Campaign 2012

During a sometimes-raucous session of what's being called the "For the People" Jobs Initiative tour, a key member of the Congressional Black Caucus told an audience in Detroit Tuesday that the CBC doesn't put pressure on President Obama because he is loved by black voters. But at the same time, Rep. Maxine Waters said, members of the CBC are becoming increasingly tired and frustrated by Obama's performance on the issue of jobs. Even as she expressed support for the president, Waters virtually invited the crowd to "unleash us" to pressure Obama for action.

"We don't put pressure on the president," Waters told the audience at Wayne County Community College. "Let me tell you why. We don't put pressure on the president because ya'll love the president. You love the president. You're very proud to have a black man -- first time in the history of the United States of America. If we go after the president too hard, you're going after us."
She is saying that blacks must speak with one voice, and that to do otherwise invites consequences.

We have seen how "feminists" (serious misnomer) treat females who hold traditional values, so your acceptance of such tactics is not surprising.

Waters is saying, we don't dare step out of line, because we know you will make us pay.

Wrong.... Women actually exist as a separate entity as a man (but equal).

While race doesn't scientifically exist... just random ancestry that is often just determined by looks. Its been made up in our culture, which i think our government should be separate from... including such groups.

I prefer things in the open as well... and i think all aspects of government should Openly separate from the idea of race.

note that i said it should, but i dont think there is anyway to force such groups as the Black caucus or a White caucus to exist or not. But i don't respect such a thing and i consider it racist.

If you advocate the "openness" of it, then you do recognize that labeling something as Black Caucus is openly racist? the double standard is wrong whether it is a minority or majority.
