I think Perry will take the primary as both the crazies and the more conventional conservatives can accept him in a way that old school conservatives cannot accept Bachmann, and the crazies cannot accept Romney.

Perry has not has his record scrutinized yet.. hell none of the GOP field have. Once that happens (hopefully happens) then the independents will run screaming away from the GOP yet again ... better the devil you know than the devil you dont as they say.

It feels like the nation is in perpetual re-election mode. Its just exhausting. Maybe we should set up an arena...airlift all the candidates in. last man or woman standing is president.

Her winning shows just how screwed up the republican party is....When obama ran and I did not vote for him...it was all about how unqualified he is...and now Bachman is qualified to be president? you gotta be kidding me....

Obama's set the new low benchmark. If Obama's qualified and was defended as being qualified for 2 years running up to and even after the election... why isn't Bachmann? Hell... the little man that keeps the coffee fresh at the Wawa market is qualified nowadays.

Sort of. But only when we elect to pay attention.

The cable channels will be running an endless stream of meaningless polls. And the Drudge headline will pick up the occasional verbal gaff that some candidate makes at a town hall speech in Weasel Falls, Kentucky.


Otherwise, the actual game doesn't start scoring until the primaries next spring....

There's more to qualification than job experience. Bachmann is an evangelical. Her worldview deviates significantly from reality.

T-Paw announced that he's withdrawing from the race -- another clear sign of how screwed up the Republican Party is. They have become so in thrall to the extreme right wingers that they seem to be incapable of nominating a reasonable person who might appeal to independents. Looks like it's Romney or bust....

Bachmann winning was expected, but I think she needed a bit more than what she got to really stand out. Paul always does well with these and never wins anything that counts, which should continue. Pawlenty I think did best out of the top 3, and finally looks like he might have a chance to go awhile once primary season starts. Really looking forward to seeing what the rest got. Newt is probably toast after this.

And my ability to predict the future continues at it's normal level. Pawlenty has withdrawn from the race.
