1: That FDR was elected 4 times in no way makes him the greatest President - you're arguing an appeal to popularity.
This is true.
2: FDR's creation of the Federal welfare state set the stage for the mess we're in now - runaway entitlement spending, spending staunchly supported/defended by the Democrats so that they might gain and retain as much politcal power as possible.
This is another story. You basically refuse to blame the GOP for anything, including Reagan for bailing out Social Security, Bush for enacting an unfunded Drug bill that increases entitlments without subsequent increases in performance, and you ENTIRELY ignore the aspect of massive defense increases, much of it debt financed. While reasonable people accept that entitlement is a big cause of our problems, it is not the cause of our debt at the moment as all entitlements are in fact solvent at the moment. While they are projected to be huge deficit drivers (and I readily accept that), you do yourself no favors by basically acting like a massive hack who refuses to do basic math.
