One of the things that irks me about incidents like the Norway shootings is the way the killer is so often "extra-humanized" by having his face beamed onto our screens and into publication ad nauseum like a celebrity we should all know and care about, while the victims remain largely faceless and nameless except to their families. Kudos to the New York Times for telling the world a bit about them.
 
One of the best newspapers in the world imo.

The main reason everybody wants to know about the killer is the question what possessed him to commit such a horrible, cowardice crime. Don't think it's much more than that. Have you read his 'manifest'?

In all honestly if I die or someone I love dies in a terrorist attack I would like it stay private. There is no reason anyone has to know of it except the people I love. As for the smearing of the face of the terrorist I don't really see a problem with it. The only thing it really does is make it harder for the terrorist to get a fair trial.
