A severe attack can be, but most of mine haven't been that severe. As long as you carry an inhaler and take medication, the attacks should be mild unless you have severe, chronic asthma. Doctors recommend you should drink coffee once an attack starts because it helps. I have no idea why, but it has stopped many of my attacks from getting really severe. When I was a child, my condition was really bad and I was hospitalized a lot. Now that I am older, I can recognize the symptoms before the attack is full blown.

The hillbilly stereotype down here is right wing, gun owners who rock out to country music in their pickup trucks while hauling dead animal carcases to the local taxidermist. Texas and Alabama aren't known for being liberal...

I don't care what your stereotype might be.

Laughing at someone's poor health is what a gap-toothed, straw suckin' hillybilly might do.

What's your explanation for that sort of behavior?

I suspect that many of the folks are hyperventilating about the response to Christie's shortness of breath are the same people who fought tooth and nail to avoid extending health insurance to 30,000,000 Americans ... oddly enough.

I'd say Christie is a victim of blood libel.

With asthma you can't breathe in, with a panic attack you're breathe really fast but it feels like you're getting no air. Sometimes people describe asthma like a weight on your chest suffocating you. In any case, I'd say this doesn't sound very serious... I have had several asthma attacks in one week. It often takes management and eliminating triggers, and in this heat wave, this is kind of expected for asthma sufferers.
I just heard on the radio Christie will be released tonight from Somerset Hospital - all standard tests came out fine. He's suffered from asthma all his life and he had an asthma attack even though he used a rescue inhaler.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

I have asthma myself. It's no fun.

Have you ever had an asthma attack? I have and have even ended up in the hospital with them myself. Asthma can kill.

Re: Gov. Christie in the hospital

I've got asthma, it's a terrible and very serious disease. My prayers are with Christie and I hope he makes a full recovery.

I also find it abhorrent and completely crass and disgusting that people, in their extreme partisan hatred, are abusing this as means to attack Christie.
