Glenn Beck likens Norwegian dead to Hitler youth

I honestly don't know why anyone is ever shocked by anything Glenn Beck says. It's like being outraged by a professional wrestler.

No one is supposed to take wrestling seriously though.

So by your reasoning it would be valid to also compare the Tea Party political camps to Hitler Youth camps?

Keep twisting, but stop acting like all the other "Liberals without a clue."

Any use of the term "POLITICAL CAMP" sounds like Hitler Youth.

Wow, so It's true, Liberals can't understand the written word, and will twist anything to fit their agenda of hate toward anyone who is a Conservative.

Beck did not compare the dead to the Hitler Youth and those of you who have more then a 5th grade education know that what he did was to compare the sound of "political camp," to Hitler Youth which if you think about it, it kind of does.

Why don't Liberals try to stick to facts there are plenty out there without changing things to suit you agenda of hate.

Hitler Youth did attend "poltical camps."

That is very different than saying the dead were like Hitler Youth and you know it.

Better luck next time.

Which is why I entered the thread to begin with. Seems as though the clown curry from the Political Bias, blogs forums made their way over to the serious discussion forums, and I'm sure they're all patting themselves on the backs as we speak for igniting the flame under the arses of the unthinking liberals that generally hang here.. What a joke?? Well, not in a funny way though, really more of a sad kind of thing??

On a side note.. The religious bigotry displayed here is enough to make someone puke.. Yet it is these same offenders that curl the hair on the backs of their necks up when someone dare question the legitimacy of homosexual marriage.. ****ing hypocrits all of you, and YOU know who you are..

Thanks. I think a healthy dose of arrogance never hurt anyone. I stand by my statement. European teens tend to mature faster than American teens. Many of our laws reflect the level of trust we place in the maturity of our youth. It's a fact. Call it arrogance if you wish.

A healthy dose of arrogance only hurts the arrogant. You may stand by your statement, it's BS, but you're free to do so.

By that notion, teaching kids readin', writin' and 'rithmatic is indoctrination.

If in the process of teaching such, they had the kids nearly worshipping cardboard cut outs of George Bush, then yes.

He has a point. Why on earth would a political party set up a camp such as this? Brainwashing, perhaps?

ZOMG!! You mean all those years at Lake Geneva Bible Camp, I was being brainwashed?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

/sob

I don't think there's any hypocrisy. Except your own, because you seem to have a bigger problem with religious camps than political ones. Religiophobia, perhaps? Bigotry towards pious persons?

I think they are free to hold their camps too. But if you think there's no political indocrination in any of them; then you're sorely mistaken.

Whether you agree with the attitude is irrelevant to whether it is indoctrination.

Tea party group offers summer camp - St. Petersburg Times

Ha ah Mega.. Did you read the exercises that will be performed at this "political camp" LOL Anything there that is strictly un-American, or uniquely partisan??? Some political camp you have there.. LOL sounds like civics to me, and is taught to some degree in every damn school in the nation, although skimmed over in some schools more than others.. LOL
Wow.. This is you BIG evidence of Tea Party indoctrination?? :)

I would have thought better of you than this.. Maybe this si why Patrick avoided posting the link earlier when I asked for it.. At least he knew he'd be torn apart for it.

Right! To teach them Christian ethics.

Less they are muslim, then it's not morality and ethics as much as it is brainwashing and indoctrination, right? Cause they clearly have political motivation and no Christian camp ever goes into political indocrination.

I have to say this is enormously entertaining to me. When I stand up for what I think the US does better than Europe (which happens a lot as I am a very big fan of your country), I get blasted for my "North American arrogance" over here. I guess people hate the truth. Meh.

Sorry I was so quick to jump. But I do believe that is verboten here and better hear it from me than a mod. I know. I just earned myself a warning yesterday. We're on the same page though, for what it's worth.

Somebody did that to a post of mine yesterday. I didn't know it was forbidden, and didn't report. I will next time.

I don't hate the truth, it's just that your "truth" (reminds my of Lionel Hutz) seems to be based on assumption, supposition, and arrogance. It's not to say that teenagers in one place "mature" faster than another. Humans being humans, and Europe being very similar to America in many regards; they likely have about the same time for maturation. But you take some of the extreme sides you see in America and apply it to the whole which is certainly not the case and falls under folly of aggregation.

One example at Liberty: Children will win hard, wrapped candies to use as currency for a store, symbolizing the gold standard. On the second day, the "banker" will issue paper money instead. Over time, students will realize their paper money buys less and less, while the candies retain their value.

That is indoctrination in a nutshell. As I pointed out to adpst, whether one agrees with the message being imparted is not really relevant. Soft and fluffy indoctrination, even if its things I agree with, is still indoctrination. I think part of the problem with this discussion is that indoctrination itself is actually pretty neutral and can be used responsibly or irresponsibly, but the word itself has a bad connotation so people assume its an attack when the word is used.

HiCups post being an example of that defensiveness.

It's not assumption, nor supposition. It's personal experience. I live here and I've raised a kid here who happens to be in her teens. I've also got one foot on the other side of the pond at all times due to my Canadian citizenship and my American boyfriend. It may be anecdotal evidence, but my personal experience on both sides of the Atlantic has led me to my conclusions. Yes, it's my truth. It's as valid as yours, whatever you base it on.

I don't have a problem with Muslim ethics.

I will go ahead and leave this here for others to ponder.

As sad as it may sound I wish more of this would happen in other areas of the globe. Might make everyone wake the **** up for a change!

That anybody can defend the indefensible shouldn't surprise me any more. But it does.
