I was in the Texas State Guard. In this militia we were trained to assist in the event of natural disasters, riots, and we were also under the jurisdiction of the Texas state governor. We trained once a year at the National Guard base and one weekend a month in our district doing various exercizes. I was in communications.

Some militias are for the common good.

And the disaster relief operations you trained for and possibly executed I updated, coordinated nationally, and got approved, for a three-year period, in the mid-1990s.

I pray you're right, but I believe Obama really is too big to fail. The System knows it can't fail to re-elect The First Black Prez. I actually suspect The System will give him another term, even if he loses the election, just because he's too big to fail. Of course, he knows that.

It seems I have more faith in the American people than you do but if I were to pay much attention to a lot of the mainstream media I could also be discouraged.

It is the Silent Majority, the middle of the roaders, who will determine the next election, and they'll have sense enough to vote for a more experienced and philosophically grounded President. There is absolutely no reason why this guy should serve another term and no matter how much they'll demonize his opponents, the smarter citizens will see through that strategy quite quickly. This demonization of candidates , btw, is just ruining the country and that allows the inexperienced candidates with no real qualifications to enter the race.

When I witnessed G.W. Bush get re-elected I realized that ANYTHING is possible in American politics.

That's true. The moderates, centrists, and middle of the roaders hold the keys. And, as it stands, it's not looking too good for the GOP with these people by all indicators. Get ready for another Obama term. Just sayin'. We've survived worse.

It's probably better to vote against what certainly is then what might possibly be. Some will vote because their party is like their home team, others will sell their vote for a cup of coffee.

As always, it is mainstream Americans where the hope lies. The real Hope.
