Anders Behring Breivik Identified As Suspect In Norway Shooting

You know, this thread, and the story which led to this thread, has nothing at all to do with Muslims. But you can count on some people to bring up Muslims any time a home grown terrorist hits. I know, I know, it doesn't make sense at all, but some people leap at ANY opportunity to tie Muslims to events that they were no way involved in. Tomorrow, you may read the following headline:

Local man arrested for DWI

And you will read statements in DP threads like this:

The muslims did it. They must have supplied the alcohol to the man.

Muslims drive cars, so they are responsible for this man drinking and driving.

There were children in the car? OMG - Muslims endanger children because they own cars. The arrested man owns a car, so he must be Muslim. Off with his head, and it is time to invade (insert name of a nation ending with "Stan" here).

I don't mean to be picky D, but the drunk guy probably had gas in his car that came from some of that Muslim oil. No oil, no gasoline, no driving the car, no DUI. See? It IS the Muslim's fault after all.

My post from another thread. I felt that this subject needed to be re-started because there is too much discussion about radical Islam, which obviously has nothing to do with this case.

I wonder what the political reaction in Norway is going to be... especially to guns?

I don't know about in norway, if this is in US, our reactions are WE NEED MORE GUNS, see we have to have more for self protection. more AKs, more rocket launchers, more lasers, more everything baby!! where's my super duper mini nuke launcher!? I want that delivered pronto!!

I didn't get this from Fox I got it from CBC. You sure do like to assume things. The prosecuter even saud he will most likely only serve 21 years.

Casey Anthony confessed to killing almost 100 people? I gotta watch the news more often.

I have a few friends in the region and from talking with them, they have all shared roughly the same sentiment (to paraphrase): "It's such a shame that that man felt that the only way of dealing with his issue was this way."

They mourn the victims, but they also mourn the perpetrator. It's something I've almost never seen on this side of the Atlantic, and I think it speaks mountains for their national character.

Just playing devil's advocate. When some of us showed emotion over the miscarriage of justice in the case of poor, little Caylee Anthony, we were smugly, and with rather cruel indifference, told by MANY here that Casey was fairly tried, and therefore innocent, and had to be received back into the community as an upstanding citizen, and blah, blah, blah. Some here even said things such as, "I don't give a ****", and "Caylee's death isn't important." I just want EVERYONE here to check themselves before getting emotional about this act of blind savagery. IF THEY SAID ANY OF THE NASTY, AFOREMENTIONED THINGS, I PLEAD WITH THEM TO S.T.F.U.

He hasn't confessed, nor has he been tried yet. WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE VERDICT OF A FAIR TRIAL, remember?

They just said on Fox that he hasn't technically confessed. He has talked about it, but apparently he hasn't actually confessed. That's what I heard. Anyway, I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

Libs do it all the time any time a tragedy happens in this country. From what I understand Europe is so far to the left they make libs in the US look moderate. So they would be stupid enough to make this a gun control issue.Heck they would probably make this a speech issue too.

I've always believed the world is full of enough truly rotten people that taking innocent lives is absolutely unjustifiable. Don't group me with cold-blooded killers.
