Explosions In Norway

If you are genuinely interested in getting rid of radical Islam, as I am, why not speak out against it rather than debating with me? Instead you trot out the usual "racism" line or the equally tired "not all Muslims are terrorists". We know not all Muslims are terrorists. Don't you thing he world knows that yet? If all Muslims were terrorists there's be a bounty on them and they'd be shot on sight.

I'm really not concerned on whether I'm "making enemies with the entire Muslim community". If they're so offended when others speak out against terrorism then they can continue to believe in their craziness, and there's not a great deal I can do about it.

All you're doing in making this claim is underlining what many tend to think of them anyway. They were raised to be offended, which is why they are often referred to as "The Religion of Perpetual Outrage". Too many of them are boils on the backside of civilized communities.

You're not ridding Islam of radicalization. You're just simply attacking Islam itself and saying, well, ugh, I don't care if I am making enemies with the entire community. That is BS and lazy. To even try to rid Islam of radicalization means that you'd have to understand which branches of it are radical and go after those branches. Embrace the Muslims in your community and the mosques that are not radical, and question your nations involvement with Saudi Arabia and what they teach about Islam and the west. However, you don't seem to really understand Islam. It's just easier for you to paint all Muslims with a broad brush and thump your chest like you're some kind of freaking hero, but you really just look bigoted to most people.

Ok, the man arrested at Utoya Island was the same man who bombed Oslo. Authorities are now saying that at least 80 were murdered at Utoya approximately 2 hours after the car bomb detonated in front of the government building in Oslo. If this guy acted alone he left the car bomb then drove the 500 miles to the shore of Rossvetnet Lake and traveled by boat to the Island of Utoya. Or he detonated the bomb and flew to the shore of Rossvetnet Lake. I have a feeling he was not working alone.

So you want me to learn of the different Islamic sects in order to stop Islamic terrorism??

What do I care what goofy sect it might be? It's not my religion and there is nothing i can personally do to stop it, apart from ridiculing those who practice this backwardness to finally do something about it. Neither does it matter to me which particular branch of the Catholic Church is involved when children are being molested, It's a pox on the entire house. You're claiming it is not your sect but some other unreasonable and backward branch is only the continued juvenile attempt at casting blame on others that makes this entire religion appear so ridiculous.

To even try to rid Islam of radicalization means that you'd have to understand which branches of it are radical and go after those branches.

No, I have neither the time nor the interest in studying which branch of Islam is committing all this terrorism, mayhem and hatreds. The source is all the same. How different Muslims interpret their holy book is up to them, just don't bother others with your internal problems and fellow crazies..
Embrace the Muslims in your community and the mosques that are not radical,

What?? Whyever would I want to do that? Please don't get too silly.
question your nations involvement with Saudi Arabia and what they teach about Islam and the west.

It is quite easy to see what's going on is SA and what Muslims are teaching in their schools and Mosques, even in the United States and Canada. In fact though I have made the acquaintance of many Saudis and found them to be quite personable, though not overly so.
However, you don't seem to really understand Islam.

I have absolutely no further interest whatsoever in Islam. It might be a big deal to you but having witnessed the murders, riots and ongoing misogyny and public hatreds carried out in its name blemishes whatever good it might once have had. However there is no evidence that it has ever done any good whatsoever, given that its practitioners tend to be strongly associated with third world living conditions and very limited educational standards.

It's just easier for you to paint all Muslims with a broad brush and thump your chest like you're some kind of freaking hero, but you really just look bigoted to most people.

I'm speaking out against Islamic terrorism and in doing so i am a bigot. This has been the Muslim line for the past decade or so, ever since 9/11. Do you really believe any serious person falls for this nonsense anymore?

The Jihadists are going to have to come up with some new political propaganda rather than trotting out this old turkey if they genuinely want to create a more positive image for themselves.

We now know this terrorist attack was not islamist. So can we please get back on the subject of this thread. Anyone care to speculate about the timeline and the distance between Oslo and Utoya Island in Lake Ressvetnet?

Yes, that should be an interesting debate.

Islamophobe tactic #54 - Whenever Islam is not to blame, quickly ignore the fact that you've spent 16 pages attacking 1.6 billion people and demand that there be a "debate" on the issue at hand.

Hatuey, care to comment on the subject of this thread or did you just chime in to launch a personal attack?

I didn't notice any demands, nor did i see any attacks on 1.6 million people.

Dont know if this has been posted yet...
The 32-year-old Norwegian man who allegedly went on a shooting spree on the island of Utoya has been identified as Anders Behring Breivik
Norwegian TV2 reports that Breivik belongs to "right-wing circles" in Oslo. Swedish news site Expressen adds that he has been known to write to right-wing forums in Norway, is a self-described nationalist and has also written a number of posts critical of Islam.
"One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests." The tweet was posted on July 17.
, he describes himself as having Christian, conservative views. He says he enjoys hunting, the games World of Warcraft and Modern Warfare 2, and lives in Oslo. He also lists political analysis and stock analysis as interests.

Grant and SheWolf. Either one of you bring up Islam again in this thread and you will receive consequences. Oh... and that goes for anyone else, too.

What personal attack is there? You had no intention of discussing the topic when your first posts was a direct attack on Islam, as per usual. If you feel insulted by the fact that you're being called an islamophobe, maybe you shouldn't be one?

Oh snap:ssst:

There's no way in hell this butchering farmer had been working all alone.

Ummm why is that?
Step one:
1.Buy a knock of uniform.
2.Gun
3.We know the rest sadly...

I'm sure a Muslim gave him a cab ride somewhere within the last 10 years. That action probably facilitated this act in some form or manner.

The distance between Utoya Island and Oslo is about 25 miles. So 2 hours would have been ample time to set off a car bomb in Oslo and then drive to Utoya.

When you refer to Lake Ressvetnet, what lake are you talking about? I searched the Internet and nothing came up.

Also, Utoya is on the Tyrifjorden.

Poor choice.

Yeah but what does a farmer know about making bombs?

Uhhhh..... You can find out how to make a bomb pretty easily these days.
Anarchist Cookbook
Not saying it wasnt possible that he acted with others (which he probably did, just have to wait and see

Early reports are that the bomb set in Oslo was a fertilizer bomb. Given that he was a farmer he probably had plenty of it. Add access to the Internet and it is not that hard to find instructions on how to make a bomb.

With all respect CC, this thread has been about Islam since post number 2. I won't talk about it anymore, but debating if the individual had links to the religion or was a terrorist was central to the thread from the beginning.
