Obama, in stand for gay rights, calls for repeal of DOMA

But that makes no sense

Seriously, that is better then having no legal standard for a long term relationship that has ended with those same circumstances.

If your argument is, well they won't like it, it's damn weak

Meh he is just trying to rain on the parade.

Nope, lived with a couple of gals though. The last one still has my TVs and recently wrecked the Tahoe I bought her.

Well, marry one, then divorce her ass, then come talk to me.

My divorce was ****ed up and it was a cakewalk by comparison. One of my best friends divorced his second wife and the divorce papers were 73 pages long. It detailed out who got to keep the ****ing broom and the dust pan! It's a good thing that poor bastard has some jack, because she drags his ass into court two, or three times a year for everything from being 30 minutes late dropping off the kids, to being 2 days late with the check. He showed up to his kid's school field trip without giving her proper notice and wound up in jail.

Wait until that starts happening to gay divorcees. They'll be pulling excuses out of their asses, noses and ears.

For some reason I'm not surprised your divorce was f'ed up.

I'll ignore the personal attack and tell you that, all divorces are ****ed up. But, you've never been married, nor divorced, so there's no way you can understand. When you do, come back and talk to me.

And a lifelong marriage to the person you love is a wonderful thing, and something that should be fought for.

Oh I've been around enough to know in some divorces people act like little children and some act like adults.

But as you know the topic of this thread is not even divorce so why you brought it up in the first place is well............

Yeah, but it's a losing battle when only one side is doing the fighting. Obviously, you've never been married, either.

And, no matter how adult people act, divorce is still ****ed up. Ask anyone that's been divorced. No one goes into marriage expecting it to fail and by the same token, no one is happy that their marriage failed.

100% wrong

I'm all for it, but I know just as well that, "but...but...but...I'm gay", is going to come into it, somewhere, somehow.

I honestly believe that if gays truly grasped how ****ed up a divorce can get, they wouldn't be pushing to legalize gay marriage.

Two things about that:

1) I have no reason at all to believe that gay people would whine more about the vagaries of marriage than would straight people.

2) I agree that marriage is ****ed up, and I'm assuming you're just making a joke about that fact, but on the off chance that you're not, the gay marriage issue is about equality under the law. Not about how awesome marriage is. :)

Well obviously, I don't get your point.

What is not to get. A marriage does not even last a year?

I have been married 3 times. My first 2 lasted 3 years each. My present wife and I have been married 17 years.

Gays do not understand that marriage is much more than being friends. A successful marriage takes commitment and hard work from both people.

LMAO
first you speak for all divorces and you were wrong, now you are speaking for all gays and are wrong again

I never said that marriage was ****ed up. I said that divorce is ****ed up.

I'm married now. I love being married. That's why I got married, a second time, because it's so ****ing cool. Of all my adornations, my wedding ring is my most treasured.

Try comprehending what I post, then comment. Thanks!

Nasty or not Divorce still hurts

MAYBE but saying ALL divorces are ****ed up is still inaccurate, especially how you bolded and stressed all LOL

I know 3 divorces that were ****ed up at all

nope still 100% wrong

Never been divorced, eh? Hey, dude, I get it. Really, I do. There was a time when I didn't get it either...before I got divorced.
