Bachmann, Family Leave Minn. Church Congregation

OMG, I hope not, I am a Ordained ULC Minister. Might give us all a bad name.

LOL, i think it is very much an outside chance unless the laws of gravity have reversed suddenly:peace

No it doesn't. Going to church has less to do with a commitment of God.

This. I don't care about this. Church attendance has no bearing on one's religious beliefs, or commitment.

While I think going to church is a good thing, I don't think it directly correlates to committment to God.

Some people who sit in a church pew every Sunday morning are probably going to make a meteor crater in the floor of Hell when they die... Westboro and Jeremiah Wright come to mind as possible candidates...

Commitment to God was a bad choice of words. Commitment to religion, on the other hand....

I don't know, it just makes you wonder when the one candidate who likes to talk about how "Christian" she is doesn't even go to church. Is it a show? What is she really committed to other than herself? And if it is herself, what makes her better than any of the other candidates?

People wallowing in several thousand year old middle eastern mythologies are utterly unsuited for any position of power. It tells me their abilities to think logically is non-existent, it tells me they do not care about anyone or anything outside their cult. It tells me they are employing mental acrobatics to make reality work with their mythology and that scare the living daylight out of me!

And we see the result clearly in the right wing candidates in USA, all wallowing in this mythology and as a result, global climate change is called a myth, evolution is called a myth! It absolutely baffles me to the core how intellectually challenged these people are!

I wouldn't know, I don't have a very high opinion of Bachman to start with. And while I am a Christian, and a conservative, I admit that candidates who make what I consider an excessive showing of their religiousity make me wonder "if milady doth protest too much." Of course, I'm pretty jaded, the only time I think politicians lie is when their lips are moving. That goes for Left and Right....

Veering a little bit but what do you think of Perry?

Not sure what to say about this. Makes you wonder about her commitment to God, though.

Not really. Who's to say she didn't just stop going to THAT church, and started going to a DIFFERENT church.

Attacking Bachmann because she is an idiot? Yea, I'll go there. Attacking Bachmann over which church she attends? I won't go there. Those Obama supporters who are attacking Bachmann over this, but blasted the GOP over the Reverend Wright / Obama connection, are nothing but hypocrites, and I have no use for them whatsoever.

I'm thinking they are too busy praying her husband Marcus' gay away.

It is pretty obvious to me that Bachman would do damn near anything to get a higher political office. If it takes throwing her under a bus, so be it. She doesn't seemed to have hesitated. Does it matter? Not to the people who believe she is living answer to America's problems. Fortunately that is an insignificant number of people.

She did. This latest bit is just having her membership stuff moved from Point A to Point B. No big.

Lutherans were always too liberal, hopefully they will join a more conservative church.

Going to church has nothing to do with how good a christian or how devout someone is. Many religious institutions exist to take your cash and thats it. Usually its the small churches where the person preaching is actually doing it because he or she believes in God and in what he is doing, not because he or she is trying to get rich.

A registered democrat voter who is a former civil rights lawyer whose family is now a group of money grubbing ambulance chasing lawyers running a provoke and sue scam to collect attorney fees and other awards. Sounds like a liberal too me.

Bachmann and her religion are her own business. What church she attends is her own business.

If she tries to interject her religion as public policy, then it becomes our business.

I'll see this ultrapartisan post, and raise it one.

A self-professed God warrior who hates homosexuals and strives for inequality while masking this stupidity as religious? Clearly this individual is a conservative!

Now that we've cleared both of our systems of partisan nonsense, what say we make rational posts from here on in and actually communicate with each other? I'll start: I don't care about Bachman's religion. That's her choice, and as long as it isn't imposed on me, all is fine and dandy.

Yes, they must be brainwashed. Hurry! Before they think for themselves!
