Okla. woman says she was attacked for looking like Casey Anthony

Police arrested Shireen Nalley on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, Lowry reports. Nalley tells police she was "trying to save the children."

For those crying out for "justice" against Anthony, this is what "justice" sometimes ends up looking like. This is also the reason we have laws and a Constitution. The trial is over. Forget about a witch hunt, OK?

Wow...what an insane idiot that woman was. We have courts for a reason. The State got their chance to try her in front of a jury of her peers, and they found her not guilty (except for lying to the cops,). That's that. We have at least one poster on the board making arguments that we should kill her and her defense team; but as stated this is the result of vigilantism. These people all hopped up on emotion aren't making rational choices, and they aren't checking to make sure they've got the right person. It can be very dangerous, there's no real way to control vigilantism; which is why we don't recognize it as proper enforcement of justice.

People need to calm down.

The woman who attacked her was full-scale, certifiable bat-**** insane. She should be put in an institution with others of her kind, never to see the light of day until she is medicated back to some semblance of sanity.

The victim has come out and said the media made it up. Neither the police report, the victim or the attacker attribute casey anthony hatred for the attack. The victim further states she never mentioned that and never heard the "attacker" utter anything about any of the anthonys.

What do you expect? This is what happens when a bunch of middle-aged women with nothing better to do will resort to after watching to much Inside Edition and Nancy Grace.

You know, you have a habit of posting things without a link. I have been looking all over to find something that corroborates what you said, but I can't find it. But I have found quite a few links that support the USA Today link I posted. One of them even quotes the victim's mother, who backs up the story about the victim saying that it was because she looked like Anthony. And USA Today quotes the attacker herself.

So please post a link. Since there was an arrest in the case, and the actor would not have attacked the victim just for the hell of it, I flat out do not believe you. However, you can change that. Just post a link, and make sure it is from a reliable source. We are all entitled to our own opinions, but nobody is entitled to his own "facts".

If I don't post a link it's because I read a lot of stuff during the day, and I rarely remeber where I read it from by the time I post something here. But, I did locate this story. BTW, she doesn't even look the least bit like her, so the story doesn't even make sense from that POV.

Sammay Blackwell, who lives in Pryor, Oklahoma, was driving home after work when another driver followed her and struck her vehicle, flipping it off the road.

A local TV station aired a story, claiming the woman that ran Sammay off the road did it because of her resemblance to Casey Anthony.

But TMZ has obtained a copy of the police report, and there is no mention of the Casey Anthony connection.

We then spoke with Sammay, who told us the story was made up: "They played it out to make it seem like it happened to me because I look like Casey Anthony."

Sammay added, "I never said I look like Casey Anthony and the lady never said I look like Casey Anthony [to the police]."

I realize TMZ is a celebrity gossip site and they sensationalize their headlines, but the story is the story. The victim claims the casey anthony link was overblown and there was no mention of it at all in the police report. TMZ does do good reporting. They were right on top of that Nikki Diaz and Meg Whitman story and had all of the documentation before anyone else.

eh, you get the idea. Even though the headlines are a bit fantastic, the stories themselves are spot on.

Further, I get that you are, for whatever reason emotionally invested in this story being true so feel you have to attack the source, but I think you'll have to divest yourself a bit.

My guess is she did it for fame and it blew up bigger then she expected, so she's back tracking on it now.

I would further guess that the person that hit her was probably just high on drugs ad had no clue wht was going on.
