U.S. consumer prices fell slightly more than expected in June to post their biggest drop in a year on weak gasoline costs, but underlying inflation pressures remain elevated.

"We are getting a very, very sharp rebound in core inflation and much more than the Fed had bargained for. We will be at price stability and possibly through it before the end of this year," said Eric Green, chief economist at TD Securities in New York.

Another President lead the country, with Government First, and foremost as the solution to our ills.

His name, was Jimmy Carter.

This story is part of the reason I was banned from the last place I posted. I said this would happen months ago and those who disagreed didn't want to face someone reminding them of their positions.

Has a lot more to do with outsourcing than it has to do with anything else. Outsourcing began many years ago, and is the biggest factor in the manufacturing slump we see today.

One of Obama's campaign promises was to address this. He doesn't even remember the promise let alone shown a willingness to address it.

Well Jesus if he didn't have to deal with some of your guys bitching all the time maybe he could get **** done.

Obama fix the economy
Obama win the war in Afghanistan
Obama fix the oil spill that wasnt your fault
Obama give us all jobs
Obama get out the way, but please fix everything, only you, and only you can.

Because I like to talk big about not relying on government to fix my problems, but really, it's about winning.

It's always somone elses fault isn't it?

Nope, thats not what im saying at all.

I just mean for people who claim they don't rely on government to fix all their problems, they sure do bitch about Obama not fixing everything to their satisfaction.

Christ I've never heard so many complaints, and bitching and moaning that I've heard since he was elected.

I don't envy him having to deal with some of you.

I bet half of you that bitch him out everyday would crack under the goddamn pressure were you put in the same position.

Cut Bernanke's nuts off.

So does any one actually have a serious answer, or just more foolish rhetoric? Come on MrV, you are the one whining about Obama here, what do you think he can do to fix this?

I said that he promised to take this problem on. He hasn't. Simply noting it's another in a long line of discarded campaign promises.

We didn't make the promises to get the job. He did.

It is a serious answer that I have expounded upon already. We have inflation because of Bernanke's actions. They need stopped before he makes it even worse.

Said another way, many think that the rise in inflation is correlated to increasing the balance sheet of the Federal Reserve. Also the Fed and most of the public have forgotten why we had tame inflation for the last 20 years. That is that we traded jobs in the U.S. for lower costs from China and elsewhere. So when the Fed talks about slack in employment and factory usage he forgets to tell us that the factories and slack we should really be looking at are the factories in China. There, folks are getting substantial wage increases that eventually will get passed along to the American public.

The Fed for the last six months essentially underwrote all of our deficit spending. Not sure this is materially different than what Madoff did. That also will only work for so long.

He can stop doing this :

What Is Quantitative Easing?

Quantitative" refers to the fact that a specific quantity of money is being created; "easing" refers to reducing the pressure on banks.[2] However, another explanation is that the name comes from the Japanese-language expression for "stimulatory monetary policy", which uses the term "easing".[3] Quantitative easing is sometimes colloquially described as "printing money" although in reality the money is simply created by electronically adding a number to an account. Examples of economies where this policy has been used include Japan during the early 2000s, and the United States and United Kingdom during the global financial crisis of 2008–2009.

Because of this :

Quantitative easing is seen as a risky strategy that could trigger higher inflation than desired or even hyperinflation if it is improperly used and too much money is created.

So what do you think Obama should do about this?

Admit his approach has failed, and either change direction, or step down.

America is more important then he is.

This, is why you fail Jet. Government CAN fix things, by doing what it's designed to do and staying within those bounds.

Obama is so far out of bounds, as it's not funny.

Well. Wonderfully vague and uninformative. Almost as if you had no clue how to fix things and just wanted to randomly bitch about Obama again...

What ****ing part of "His approach has failed" is vague?

Obamacare is scaring business, REPEAL IT. Reform the tax code by eliminating so called loopholes while lowering over all rates, namely on capital gains. Admit Entitlements are the driving force behind our debt and actively seek to reduce them.

Ya know, reverse course.

It's obvious you aren't a serious debater, or that oyu post giving a crap what others think, you'll just go into blind partisan mode whenever it suits you.

FFS, "Reverse Direction" is vague? Only to those not serious about reality.
