Low Registration Sinks Tea Party Convention

Organizers of the Freedom Jamboree announced Wednesday that they have canceled the tea party convention planned for this fall, citing low registration.

They had hoped the event would serve as a stage for Republican presidential candidates to court the conservative movement, and two — Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.) — had already confirmed they would attend

Low Registration Sinks Tea Party Convention : Roll Call Politics

It looks like the Tea Party is losing steam

Or this was a small group within the Tea Party trying to do something that others disagreed with:

Twenty-one local tea party groups started it with the intent to reclaim the movement from national umbrella groups and offer an alternative to the annual fall tea party rally on the National Mall.
“We were doing it because we were fed up with the infighting that these umbrella groups have done in 2010,” William Temple, a lead organizer who lives in Georgia, told Roll Call.

Helps to read past the first paragraph.

Tell us again how the Tea Party is dying off.......when Obama gets his ass tossed to the curb in 2012......

You make me laugh sometime pal.
If the Tea Party is doing so great right now why are they having such trouble to get a rally going on?

Maybe people are realizing that the so-called Tea Party is really just scam to get people to continue to vote for republicans.

Oh, right! Like when Amway became known as Quixtar.

Working class Republicans are waking up...they listen to bachman, palin, cantor, ryan, Mr Vicchio,, Turtledude and CpWill and its making them understand the teaparty is out to just screw them for the benefit of those that have the most

Yeah this ONE RALLY was clearly a make it or break it moment........clearly Freedom Jamboree was the deciding factor for the entire future of the Tea party......its all over....the sleeping giant just went back to bed.

I do not mean to sound like a pessimist but I see the republicans giving Obama his 2nd term. They are going to try to prop up a RINO like McCain OR Romney or someone who is damaged goods like Sara Palin. OR maybe they are going to prop up someone who is generally viewed as nut case. Obama is going to have to seriously **** up within a month or two of the 2012 presidential elections in order for the republicans to win.

Gotta a question where have this "Tea Party" been around lately?

Oh yea... I think they got lost...

Working class Republicans are waking up...they listen to bachman, palin, cantor, ryan, Mr Vicchio,, Turtledude and CpWill and its making them understand the teaparty is out to just screw them for the benefit of those that have the most

I never understood working class Republicans. Why vote for a leader whose stated platform is to take everything you have and give it to his friends? As opposed to Democrats, whose platform is to take some of what you have, if you don't have a lot, and more if you do, and give it to those who have nothing, and help them contribute to the generally stuff-getting process for everyone.

The Obama economy in 2012 is going to gurantee victory to anyone but Obama........

........its going to be a Republican freebie.

You have to be high on Hopium or MarijObama to be that dellusional........

Which Republican leader's platform is "Take everything you have and give it to his friends"?.....do tell.....

Close, but not quite. According to recent polling, the republican candidate that would beat Obama would be "any of the above." But thanks for playing!

Yes, but you are overlooking the question of why anyone would vote for Barack Obama. Do they feel he has done a good job or because they belong to the same political party?

Would you mind including that "stated platform" on this thread?

And I think you're confusing the Democrat Party with the Christian religion. Many Americans believe in a separation between the Church and the State.

Mostly it will be people voting for him because of party affiliation. Those that do vote for Obama will be because the republican party will most likely prop up a RINO or someone who is damaged goods. Some of the voters might be people who want Obama to be the first black president to get a 2nd term. Some of it might be the idiots who think Obama will pay their bills.
