Such a paranoid response. Everybody likes apple pie.

However, I dont think China is being benevolent and looking out for US citizens. I think China is stirring discontent, trying to get us to slow defense spending so they dont have to keep up, and is also not a little bit concerned about the debt we owe them. China may want to heed their own words of caution with regard to 'taking care of' their own people...at least where 'taking care of' their people doenst mean rounding up dissidents and imprisonng them.
So military spending is the new welfare of the 2000's?

And you know this. I would like to see the massive amount of links that you have to prove your point. There have to 100's of thousands of them to back up your claim.

You bet. With the gap between rich and poor widening, it won't take much effort to win the hearts and minds of the populace. America is changing so fast, it's actually creating a fertile ground for radical movements and even reactionary ones to sprout up.

    keep dreaming bro
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

There has ALWAYS been waste in every level of spending regardless of who the administration has been. The military is not immune to it.

Clearly, we should listen to China when determining our defense budget.
