    Mexican national executed in Texas

    Source: CNN
    Date: 7/7/11

Humberto Leal Garcia Jr., a Mexican national convicted of raping and killing a 16-year-old girl in 1994, was executed by lethal injection in Texas Thursday evening.

The Supreme Court earlier denied a stay of execution for the convicted killer, despite opposition from the Obama administration and the Mexican government.
God Bless Texas for doing the right thing.

So much for Obama stopping it and its "irreparable harm".

Hopefully the death of this POS will bring some closure for the family who have waited 17 years for this.

Obama's all kinda fail here. He failed to persuade Perry to stop, couldn't get SCOTUS to step in...

And a "Mexican National" Whom btw had been here since he was TWO years old.... got a ticket to hell, may the Good Lord forgive his sins.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

And the next time an American citizen arrested in a foreign country asks for access to the U.S. Consul, we shouldn't be too surprised if the answer they get back is ' why should we allow you this? Your country doesn't."

The issue isn't whether or not this piece of crap deserved to be executed. Of course he did.

The issue is what affect this has on the generally accepted principle that people arrested in a foreign country have the right to talk to a representative of their own country. Christ even Iran allows that.

But this is a big picture thing that is obviously far beyond the grasp of the Neanderthal Perry and his knee jerk supporters.

I'm sure in terms of many countries the risks they would take in terms of diplomatic relations and financial/military support would deter them from behaving in that manner.

Im ok with this. Stay out of hostile countries. Obey local laws. And if you don't and you're arrested, sorry about your bad luck.

But because we're America we can get away with it?

Big picture, people. Try looking at it once in a while.
