Speculation as to how much more time she will spend in Prison is the newest talk of the Country.

I have already heard that it couls be until Feb. next years or even as soon as August.

What say you? I is this fair?

ORLANDO, Fla. (CNN) -- Casey Anthony -- the former murder suspect who spent about three years in jail awaiting trial -- has been sentenced to four years in jail, but a judge will give her credit for time served.

The court will determine Thursday morning the exact amount of time she will spend behind bars.

i think the judge made a weak decision regarding the defense assertion that the four guilty counts should have been a singular count (and three instances of double jeopardy)
the prosecution effectively made the defense's case in this matter when the prosecutor asserted that the convicted woman's four lies during that singular interview were intended to send the cops on a wild goose chase
that shows a singular criminal intent
the judge instead focused on the efforts which flowed from each of the lies, misplacing his focus away from the fact that the four lies were for a singular purpose in a singular interview
however, given that she will complete her jail sentence before this appeal could be heard, appeal is probably a pointless exercise to undertake
 
Did this really need its own thread? Its still about Casey, part of the trial, sentencing, why not just add it to the existing thread?
 
What's fair? Nothing about this case is fair.

Casey Anthony, liar that she is, will be a rich lady when it all shakes out. She'll have everything she always wanted...money, fame, attention. Hopefully, she'll have enough to buy a nice car -- one where the trunk doesn't smell like her dead baby.

Well, probably best if she stays in for awhile so no one "gets" her when she gets out. I don't think it is safe for her outside. May never be. Lots of people will not accept that this is over and she WILL be free.
 
Some of the signs outside of the court room this morning were a little disturbing...pictures of Casey with duct-tape over her mouth, signs calling Casey a late-term abortionist, signs calling the jurists guilty of murder, etc....

She'll need 24-hour protection when she gets out, and for quite some time. People are going to behave like animals.
 
Someone like Casey Anthony should never be allowed to have children ever again.

She's going to be free. People need to accept that. She will have hundreds of thousands of $$$$ in court costs to pay, it will be very hard for her to find work, she's broke, no family (if she is smart) and it will be a miracle if she ever has anything resembling a normal life ever again, not that I think she has ever HAD a normal life. People should just be content with that. She's marked for life, and has a face not easily forgotten. It's TERRIBLE when a child dies unnaturally, and no one even knows how or why, but this case is OVER.

Some people can't look at it objectively. Justice was served, the case is over. But for those who are 100% convinced that she killed her daughter, nothing will be enough until they see Casey suffer...or worse. I hope she does a few interviews and gets a nice chunk of money together because she's going to need it to pay for the security required to keep her safe.
 
This is what America has come to. Hundreds of similar tragedies with children happen in the US every year, so why did the media sensationalize on this one? The answer is easy. In an era where infotainment has replaced news, the deaths of white women and children are, to our government, a welcome distraction from the horrible job they are doing with running this country. Yes, the death of this child is a tragedy, but what our leaders are doing to America is a friggen' crime, and a crime that they want to divert our attention from.

Fair? Yes. Justice served? No.

She received a fair trial. It's not her fault the state of Florida ****ed up the prosecution. But the jury did the only thing they could do since it was not proven that she committed murder, manslaughter, or child abuse.

I really think it had more to do with the circumstances. The girl was missing for 31 days before anybody knew about it. There were multiple lies and false starts in the investigation. The body was found less than 1/4 mile from where the family lived....yet nothing solidly linked to the mom or grandparents.

This tragedy would be multiplied if she gained financially off the death of her child. Personally, I will boycott any media which pays her a dime.

just because the prosecution didn't prove it doesn't mean she didn't kill her daughter. it's a travesty that she would make any money as a result of her crime. i do not care if she suffers.
 
Yeah.. I kind of hate so see her make money off this, but unless her defense team finds her work or something-- who is going to hire her? At BEST she is a terrible liar... not a good quality when looking for a job. I'd rather she support herself than end up on welfare. People that don't want her having babies should remember that. Kids are worth $$$ in this country to welfare people. Her PARENTS aren't making any secret of looking for money, that's for sure. They say they are unemployable now, and taking offers.. Oh, Lord... horrible case.. wish it would just go away.

Just because people have a "gut feeling" that she killed her daughter doesn't mean she killed her daughter. The fact is, nobody knows what happened, she's been lambasted in the media for three years, and now she has to deal with people like you who would either directly wish harm upon her or tacitly condone those who would. Her life is probably in serious jeopardy because people are making assumptions as to her guilt. You may be right, but the fact that you might be wrong should be enough to let her live peacefully. Unfortunately, it won't be. For that reason, her best (and probably only) option is to make money via interviews and book/movie rights. And she'll need the money to (1) pay court fines, (2) survive, and (3) protect herself.

Casey Anthony knows what happened. And whatever it was that happened was bad enough for her to try and hide her baby's death from everyone until it was discovered that Caylee was missing ... and then it was bad enough for her to lie about what really happened.

Whatever happened, she was involved. And by the way she was partying afterwards, she didn't seem at all upset that her baby died tragically. She should not profit from that.
 
They are already lining up to get a piece of any money she gets from a book or movie deal

But Anthony already has many bills to pay, including a $70,000 tax lien by the Internal Revenue Service from a $200,000 payment from ABC for rights to family videos. She also owes investigative and court costs associated with earlier check-fraud convictions.

Prosecutors on Wednesday filed a motion asking the court to tax Casey Anthony for "special costs" related to the case's investigation and prosecution.

The motion signed by Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick asks Chief Judge Belvin Perry to order that Casey Anthony "pay reimbursement for the special costs of investigation and prosecution."

i know that she was not at all concerned about her daughter when she was out partying..........so i won't be concerned about her welfare now. the fact that she would tell any lie and harm any person she could to get off sickens me. she sickens me. who cares what she has to do to survive? why should she have protection when she clearly offered no protection to her daughter?

i don't care about her options.........she caused everything that happened to her. and if she profits on her daughters death, it further proves the point that she's a sociopathic, loathsome bitch.

And the sooner she "accidentally' falls off a cliff, like her daughter "accidentally" died, the better. It would be one less pimple on the ass of humanity.

god, really, who CARES that she can't get a job. it never bothered her before to live off and steal from other people. she can't get welfare, she has no child. god forbid she ever has another one.

The only way she'll have fame and money is if the American people give her fame and money... Nadiya Sulemen tried, but she didn't get a reality show and she doesn't have a book. Let's hope you're wrong..

It's not our duty to judge her or the jurors... Casey and God know the truth. I think we should leave God's job to God.

I hate self righteous people, they tend to be cruel and capable of being monsters much like the people they hate, and yes, it looks like and sounds like hate outside the court house. It's disgusting on all levels. Humans are sick creatures sometimes.

Who would publish her book or ghost write it? She's damaged. She's a liability, not as asset to publishers or anybody else. The next time she winds up in court for anything, her ass will be handed to her by the judge and jurors because she is so hated.
