'this reckless administration and their dictates?'...if you are referring to spending, you should apply this to more than just this administration....

Amen brother. Amen brother.

So you agree that government takes your earned money by force, right?

j-mac

No. it's not either or. it's nto force because we have representatives. It's us adhereing to our contract, our agreed upon form of government. When did conservatives become so opposed to honoring agreements, be in national or international?

No. it's not either or.

Look, First you say that you can't get away with not paying taxes, now you say the government doesn't force you to do such....Which is it Joe?

I see this bit a lot so why do so many pay nothing for all those great things and others pay 100X or more of what they use?

nevermind the government services that he is more than eligible to take advantage of, whether he chooses to or not.

no, we voted for legislators, and they voted for a national income tax.

till this day, such taxes are still the Law of the Land.

if you don't pay your taxes, the government will garnish your wages.

...just like if you don't pay your parking tickets, the govt. will seize your car.

Yes, all in the name of roads, firemen and police.

Geeezus man.

not only does this not describe the 47% of Americans under discussion; it doesn't even describe the poor.

yeah, cause' unlike the Republicans, we didn't want to see the govt. shutdown.

unlike the GOP, who saw a govt. shutdown as a campaign strategy. selfish bastards.

I would say Obama does want a shut down since he refuses to meet with the GOP

Obama's approach to debt talks: refuse to meet with GOP, skip town for fundraisers | Philip Klein | Beltway Confidential | Washington Examiner

Yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., took Obama up on his offer and invited him to meet with Republicans. But the White House quickly shot down the idea, with press secretary Jay Carney saying, "That's not a conversation worth having."

As it turns out, Obama had other things to do (via NBC):

President Barack Obama traveled to Philadelphia on Thursday for some money-raising face time with key local supporters.

The President’s first stop was a mid-afternoon reception in Center City at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. The event was sponsored by the DNC’s Generation Fourty Four (Gen44) council, a program set up to cultivate and empower a rising generation of party leaders, aged 40 and under.

Gen44 members paid $250 for admission. Others attended after donating $1,000 or $2.500 to the Obama Victory Fund 2012. The event was sold out....

After the fundraiser, Obama stopped by John's Water Ice and reportedly chose the lemon flavor.

"I love being in Philly, especially when I have ice like this," said Obama.

Later on, Obama attended a fundraiser at the home of Comcast Executive Vice President David L. Cohen, in Mount Airy.

I know.. Not much to say.. I would dare wager that over 90% of the crap put on this forum is unsubstanciated and simply untrue.. Lack of a link supporting it is evidence of that..

So your basing your entire arguement on the fact that he went to a fund raiser instead of having lunch with turtle man?? ROFL!! One person hardly qualifies as the GOP, and I can list off a few occasions when the GOP snubbed their noses at the president?? You let me know when a democrat calls a republican president a liar during a state of the Union address.. Then you might have something to say.. Until then you are just a troll trying to appear releavant..

Get a clue dude!! I wouldn't want to have lunch with him.. So where is the part about a shut down?? Again?? You still flapping in the wind..

In fairness .. I think his reply ... was to a statement that was just as bad don't you ? Or is there back up for the Republicans "wanting" a shut down ??

Just a simple question ... and I'm not saying he wants a shutdown ... but on the other hand .. I'd have to say he's not overly concerned about one either . .would you ?

Here is some information on poverty..

Number of Americans in poverty jumps to 43.6M; working-age poor at highest level since 1960s - FoxNews.com

It is Fox News so it should be gospel to you.. Poverty is an issue.. You talk about cutting spending?? How about getting these people to work and educated so they aren't a burdon to society?? Instead of cutting benefits and making even more poor people..

while I agree with you on getting people to work .. so they are no longer a burden ... that 43.6 million working poor is only 27% of the work force .. why aren't those other 20% paying something into our system ?? Just askiing ..
