how much did taxes go up for the wealthy during those 8 years?

sorry my friend, but your idea that raising taxes kills job growth, simply doesn't stand up to reality.

ah that's a start. but dem propaganda and tax schemes place me and most of the others in the top one percent in the same tax class as Gates. But even if Buffett only pays 18% on the billion or whatever he makes in a year he has paid far far more tax dollars than you have. To say he hasn't paid his fair share fails on most grounds of objective fairness.

Problem is it is hurting us. Freight is slowing I have been seeing this for several months now. That means the economy is getting worse not better

theft is illegal. if someone takes something from you that you owe, and society recognizes that this was the right thing to do, then its not theft.

if you don't pay your parking tickets, the County Sheriff will sieze your car. is this theft?

certainly not.

if you don't pay your mortgage, the bank will foreclose, and the County Sheriff will sieze your home. is this theft?

certainly not.

Except that since Obama took office domestic drilling has been up 20% and high paying energy jobs as a whole have risen the past 2 years. Just look at Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virgina or North Carolina.

if i pay 36 cents of taxes on my last dollar earned and I then have to pay 40C of taxes on my next dollar that is not a 3% increase in my taxes its a bit more than a 10% increase because 4 is what percent of 36?

Wrong. Government raising taxes and not balancing the budget or stopping the rising deficit is legal theft

Yes he has paid more tax dollars than I have. Dollars is not the issue here. The issue is a fair burden. I have said this before in many other threads. A family is in the 15% bracket and earns 30k a year jointly. They pay what? 4 grand about? That is fair. Someone who earns 275 million a year pays 15% of their salary and pays like 40 mil in taxes. That is a tiny little piece of that income compared with taking 4 grand from a family earnign 30k a year.

Then I will personally arrest every member of the democratic caucus and say I am doing this under the authority of ptif219 because he says not balancing the budget is legal theft.

When they keep increasing it to keep spending it is. Wealth redistribution is not in the constitution

You're not helping. The argument for a leftist system of taxation is not that the richest people owe something to society, it's that it's beneficial for there to be a strong safety next. I'm considered to be a Liberal who is "well off". I don't owe anything to society. If anything, every single dollar I've ever made came from my own ambition. Society didn't give me my artistic talents or paid my bills. I did. I am more than willing to give part of my salary to those who need it more than me, however, I don't "owe" anything to them or society. If anything, it's the other way around.

Conservatives who don't agree with taxation in its present form call it "theft" because it is to an extent. It's not theft for the government to take money in order to fund street construction, infrastructure, certain safety programs. It's ridiculous for the government to tax millions in order to fund "free condom" drives. Theft is in the eye of the beholder. Some things which we are taxed for are theft, others, just common sense.
