In all seriousness, here in MN the Repubs keep dragging out "racinos" for revenue. Basically it's a racetrack and casino all in one.

I say do it. I have to pay my taxes, I don't have to gamble.

In Texas the city of Austin found 25 million in state money to give to formula one racing.

So are you saying the GOPs obstruction has slowed his destruction of the economy or that you thank God they hindered his repair of the economy so they could win in '12?

They certainly did ONE of these things.

WTF…why do anything with it, if it doesn’t raise a dime?
Its code for more tax cuts.

The only way closing of loopholes or anything else on the revenue side of the equation is "revenue neutral" is if it corresponds to an equal amount of tax cuts.

DUH..now I get it. The famed winger rabbit hole theory. When we cut taxes (the source) magically the tax revenue shoots up…always.
The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

Re: Republicans Say They’re Open to ‘Revenue Raisers’

...John Cornyn, Republican of Texas, said that he would consider the elimination of some tax breaks and corporate subsidies in the context of a reform of the tax code, provided that the program did not bring an overall increase in taxes.

“I think it’s clear that the Republicans are opposed to any tax hikes; particularly during a fragile economic recovery,” Mr. Cornyn said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Now do we believe tax reform is necessary? I would say absolutely.”

But he insisted that any such tax reform be “revenue neutral,” meaning that the government would not take in any more money from individuals or businesses than it does now. ...
    umm...

that is pretty much the same proposal that both Paul Ryan and the Bi-Partisan Debt Commission put forth. naturally Republicans would be fine with this.
