these are just some of the methods employed by mister bobb in detroit, empowered there by snyder's "martial law," which is why so many in the know, or so i've been told, openly PREFER mister bobb's methods

This is all connected together in ways most people don't seem to be able to grasp.

I feel very fortunate to have had so much diverse experiences, that I get it. It makes it frustrating trying to deal with people who only have ideas and no practical in life.

Well, we have a point of minor agreement, but I'll take that for now. Although it is a fact that we need to have long term goals that both parties can agree on, but shorter term plans allow for promises of cuts in spending allow for accountability, which in the past the track record of deals made where taxes raise, with cuts in spending have been broken by demo's every time. This time we need to see the cuts in spending first.

J, your mistaken blaming of one party aside (not to mention how you for the role of the voter), you can make those promise in writing, backed by law, with them placed now.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

Oh wait, we're not really interested in actually generating tax revenue, we just want to raise taxes.
Good smoke screen. This balances the budget how? Oil company making high profits helps me how? Does it low gas? Let's see if the Oil companies paid their share then maybe. Wait, the oil rig workers will pay taxes. I get it.

they will indeed. Oil companies making profits helps everyone, because 1) millions of Americans own stakes in oil companies and 2) yes, it does lower gas. and yes, they and all of the jobs they will create means increased revenue.

I can understand how in today's economic climate it doesn't make sense to take money out of the pockets of hard working Americans or hamper investor's ability to invest. However, since it is very evident that the rich are getting richer and aren't feeling the burden of the economic downturn, it makes sense to tax them to generate revenue since it was Wall Street who is partly to blame for brining this mess upon the country. Congress (particularly under Pres. Clinton's deregulation tactic and GWB for not providing the needed oversight) was the other side to blame, but that mishap has been covered by bank finance reform measures.

You're so full of it, man!

Your side has been the one calling for the President to get involved in the debt ceiling negotiations! Now that Boehner is having problems getting his (Tea) party to jump on this massive $4 TRILLION spending cut proposal, you're going to decree "Obama trying to come in at the 11th hour to rescue negotiations!"

Please!!! Save that crap for somebody who can't see through the GOPs political smoke screen. They're bolstering is liable to backfire on them.
Problem is Obama walks out when he does not get his way. Obama shows he has no leadership qualities
