President Obama Takes a Break at Camp David

1) Have you forgotten what the subject is, or are you just too embarrassed to discuss it?

The issue isn't about Obama's proposed budget. It's about a meeting concerning increasing the debt limit.

2) TARP, which was passed in 2008, called for spending in FY's 2009 & 2010. That spending was included in the budget

Are you really so ignorant that you don't realize that some of the govts spending is the result of legislation passed in previous years? Really?

I wouldn't be surprised at anything a rightwinger doesn't know. After all., I remember how shocked they were when they learned the FY doesn't begin on Jan 1

Have you forgotten the Obama record which is why he won't meet with anyone? You claimed that Obama submitted a budget, I responded. TARP was spent in fiscal year 2009 and most of it has been repaid. It had nothing to do with the 2010 budget. Better do a little research on your own and stop buying leftwing rhetoric. Bush spent 350 billion of TARP in October-December 2009 and left 350 billion to Obama which he used to take over GM/Chrysler in 2009, and provide support for Freddie/Fannie/AIG. Show me what part of the 2010 budget was TARP since the total TARP fund was 700 billion?

0bama record, 14.7 officially unemployed with 15.8% total unemployment, 4 trillion added to the debt, double digit misery index, 1.8% GDP growth, record budgets, no leadership skills at all, 29 fund raisers, 76 rounds of golf. Yes, that is leadership and a record to be proud of.

Ah great, another thread you can **** up with your verbal diarrhea.

This is a silly discussion, but its yours.... so, for the record, GW spent more time out of Washington than Jack Kennedy even served as president.

from factcheck:

"....Bush spent 1,020 days of his presidency on vacation. To put this into context, John F. Kennedy spent fewer days in office, 1000, than George W. Bush spent on vacation. Bush spent 487 days at Camp David, 490 days at his Crawford ranch, and 43 days in Kennebunkport. George W. Bush spent 69 days in Crawford during his first year in office. In contrast, according to FactCheck.org, Obama spent all, or part of, 26 days of his first year in office on vacation. This was less than all three previous Republican presidents, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, but more than the two previous Democratic presidents, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton...."

I will find some stats on Obama for you, if you insist. Note per above that during his first year in office, Obama spent more time in the oval office than any recent president other than Clinton and Carter (what is it about Democrats that they work so hard....must be use to being "on the clock")

The Obama record

0bama record, 14.7 million officially unemployed with 15.8% total unemployment, 4 trillion added to the debt, double digit misery index, 1.8% GDP growth, record budgets, no leadership skills at all, 29 fund raisers, 76 rounds of golf. Yes, that is leadership and a record to be proud of.

Yet another thread where you ignore facts and do nothing but troll.

Pot to kettle?

Speaking of a pot Jet, my coffee pot is running low. Need to brew another. :coffeepap

Here is the Obama record, refute it

0bama record, 14.7 million officially unemployed with 15.8% total unemployment TODAY, 4 trillion added to the debt, double digit misery index, 1.8% GDP growth, record budgets, no leadership skills at all, 29 fund raisers, 76 rounds of golf. Yes, that is leadership and a record to be proud of.

He's always taking a break. He needs to take his own advice, get off the golf course and the campaign trail, and start doing his job. He hasn't squat since taking office.

Conservatives posts have become so befuddled, they don't recognize that Obama's record has nothing to do with the republicans refusal to negotiate. I even pointed out how this discussion is about presidential vacations, with no effect

Conservative has become so befuddled, he doesn't realize that Obama's record has nothing to do with the republicans refusal to negotiate.

When Republicans invite the President to the table that is an attempt to negotiate. Where do you get your information that the Republicans don't want to negotiate. Telling them that it is the liberal way or the highway isn't negotiation and you have yet to respond to the reality that Obama's budget was voted down 95-0 and he now wants to cut 100 billion off a record budget which is still deficit spending.

They didnt invite the president to a table or to negotiate. They invited the president to listen to the republicans explain why they won't compromise

Where do you get your information that the Republicans don't want to negotiate.

From the republicans

From the republicans

Explaining is part of negotiation

Seriously...

Bush was President for 8 years.. that is about 2920 days.

He spent 487 days at Camp David, and 490 days at his Texas ranch.

That leaves 1943 days in the White House, which is not even accurate because that includes official state visits and campaign visits and other visits.

And now the conservatives are complaining that Obama goes to Camp David with his family.... when Obama has a full 2 years of vacation time out of his 8 years in office, then we can talk about bashing him.

Explaining is part of negotiation

The Republicans explaining why they aren't going to compromise is not negotiation.

Don't know where you get your definition of negotiation.

Umm, if you're going to insist that a president should not take time off during a crisis, then what bush did (he was a president, remember?) during a crisis is relevant to show the partisan hypocrisy of the rightwing whiners
Bush left office in January of 2009. It's time you live in the present.

I'll do that when you post links for everything you've said.
So it's bull****. Thanks for admitting it.

So you admit that bush* did it!!!
I admit nothing... Bush left office in January of 2009. It's time you live in the present.

sangha said:
And still, you refuse to criticize it. Instead, you're defending bush* for doing the same thing!!!

sangha said:
Nope, that's not partisanship.
I have criticized Bush for that when he was in office... however, Bush left office in January of 2009. It's time you live in the present.

sangha said:
What "FED"? The Federal Reserve, or the Federal govt, which you believe should do less, except when a democrat is president. Then, he should do MORE!!!
He should do more to get us over the crisis. Then he should do less, in fact the FED (Federal Governement) should all do less.

sangha said:
Not anymore. Pisses you off, right?
Bush was horrible for the country. Why should that piss me off?

sangha said:
So you want the govt to do MORE, not less.
Here are the directions again: "Re-read my previous post on the subject. Repeat."

sangha said:
I haven't said one word in defense of Obama. I have merely pointed to partisan hypocrisy of rightwingers who want the govt to do less, and Obama to do more.
That's an outright lie. Your posts have ONLY defended Obama. Your tactic is to try and change the subject to Bush, which is a Progressive strategy. You've shown your cards and your slant a long time ago. You're the only one who still thinks or is playing otherwise.

sangha said:
POTUS does not lead the House of Representatives. Guess who leads the House? (Hint: It aint a democrat)

No one's claiming the POTUS leads the House... boring...

So let's sum up.

1. You're no independent - but a rabid progressive defending Obama in this thread
2. Your tactic is to reverse every issue to Bush - thus avoiding any honest discussion
3. You're words are only intellectually dishonest or at best, misleading, for the aforementioned partisan reasons
4. The constant use of "wingnuts" and "rightwingers" identifies your purpose

Dime a dozen pal... your boring, your intellectually dishonest and cannot discuss the topic at hand with any credibility, you make Alinsky type accusations, fail to back them up, and constantly name call.

Wow... never seen this before. :lamo

Let me know when you have something other than "Bush" to point to. Just in case you missed it:

Bush left office in January of 2009. Time to live in the present.

The Republicans explaining why they aren't going to compromise is not negotiation.

Don't know where you get your definition of negotiation.

Well, it's all a game - everyone bluffs, shows how serious they are and shows they can walk away from the table.

Will you ever make up your mind? One minute it's bad, then it's a tactic, then it's a good thing.

In post#34 you said
Regarding REPUBLICANS - the ever hated GW Bush decided golf was not appropriate after the famed "watch this drive" incident. DEMOCRATS identified GW finally learned his lesson as identified in this:
Bush gives up golfing because of Iraq war. | ThinkProgress

When will Mr. Obama learn that same lesson?

It's obvious that, in this post, you are describing not meeting as a mistake. bush* made that mistake, but according to you, learned from it and stopped doing it. But when it was pointed out that the repubs wont meet for negotiation, you changed your tune and began calling it "a tactic" and described it in flattering terms.

Because we all know, tactics can't be bad... BWAHAHAHAH!!!

You're comedy gold sangha! Comedy gold!

It would have been easier to just answer "No"

When will Mr. Obama learn that same lesson?

When Obama did it, you compared to what bush did, which you described as a mistake. It's a mistake when Obama does it

When the republicans do it, it's a great "tactic"

PS - I am going to have to INSIST that you limit your personal attacks. Your posts are becoming incoherent in addition to being against the rules. I don't alert on every violation, but your posts are stuffed with personal attacks to the point that it is making any reasonable discussion impossible

Subtext: Except for me and Michelle, who by the way just returned from an Africa trip costing taxpayers 500K on an outreach trip promoting “youth leadership, education, health and wellness”, which are very laudable things. I wonder (to use Mr. Obama's words) "what are we paying for government and what are we getting for it." I agree - a good question. What did we get for the 500K, because the media coverage seems to follow Michelle around as she's sightseeing which doesn't quite follow the FLOTUS narrative.
