Absolutely no danger from the nuke areas themselves. The plutonium storage facility and the reactor are extremely bunkered. The chemical storage facilities were threatened in the Cerro Grande Fire, but after that fire the trees were cleared out all around those areas. The old 40's - 50's dump sites are the only thing that are of any real concern.

My state, AZ, is on fire, too, and we are praying for the monsoons to start, but no rain in sight yet.
Yeah the Wallow Fire was smoking us out all last week. It's crazy dry everywhere.

The fire lines are still holding South and West of town. That little flare up at TA-49 was really just a few trees. Los Alamos National Lab is where it is because it was the perfect place to build a secret town back in the 40's. They are holding daily briefings from the Fire Chief, Lab Director, and Head of County Council. With State Gov and watchdog eyes on the whole thing, they will definitely tell us if anything bad happens.

THX for the update!! Always helps to hear from the people involved. I hope you can all go home soon and the damage will be minimal. LOTS of fires this year!! The monsoon clouds are building over AZ, finally. Maybe we will all get rain soon to put these fires out.
