Re: Soros and liberal groups seeking top election posts in battleground states

Here another article on the same subject only this one is from FoxNews. I can see both sides of the issue, but you know if Conservatives thought of it first they'd be defending the measure.

To me, the problem isn't the ethics behind what the Secretary of State Project (SOSP) is trying to do - "elect 'clean candidates' to the secretary of state posts" and "support secretary of state candidates with integrity". I find nothing wrong with this. The problem comes into play when the efforts seem so "one sided" - that is the organization tends to lean toward only one side of the political divide. Still, Soros points to the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections where there was overwhelming evidence of voter manipulation. So, from that perspective, the effort to change how State secretaries are elected - removing them from the ballot box and having them appointed by lawyers, for example, seems like a pretty good idea. In contrast, Soro's initiative here would be the counter to the Citizen's United SC decision where contributors with deep pockets can contribute to the electoral process. On that note...

Politicians in the pockets of the wealth-class...who'da thunk it?

Oh....puh-lease...... Did you even read your own link? It said nothing of the kind. There wasn't anyting about lying, cheating, stealing....in fact just the opposite.

Its about ensuring that what happened in Florida in 2000 is never allowed to happen again, where the vote of the people is denied (and we all know what state our country is in as a result).

Republicans lose elections when people have the right to vote. The only way that Republicans win elections is by keeping people from voting. The point of the article is that efforts are being made to prevent this from ever happening again.

No, it's about Soros trying to do what he thinks happened in Florida.
