SACRAMENTO, Calif (Reuters) – A California mother was arrested and charged with murder on Tuesday after police said she cooked her baby in a microwave.

Ka Yang, 29, was taken into custody three months after her week-old baby was found dead, Sacramento Police spokesman Sgt. Norm Leong said.

You have got to be kidding me. I never ceased to be amazed at the absolutely horrible things we can do as a species. You know, sometimes I think if an alien race came and decided that we should be completely destroyed, I wouldn't blame them...

Is disgusted with horrible killings, but can argue it may be acceptable to wipe out every human. Ok.

Yeah, but that's not purposeless, lions and alligators do so to ensure their survival, and in many parts of the world, microwaving your own kid is a great way to lessen the chances of your survival.

Unfortunately California is ran by scumbag sympathizers and they probably only executes someone once every two or three years, so even if she gets the death penalty she will probably be about 70 or 80 years old before they execute her. The last person executed in California was Clarence Ray Allen executed in 2006 and before him was Stanley Tookie Williams in 2005. What is a travesty is the fact it took 26 years to execute these scumbags after their convictions.
 
She shouldn't be killed. She should be tortured slowly every day for the rest of her miserable life.

Beat me to it. A lot of people are gonna feel really really stupid if this woman is exonerated -- assuming, of course, that they haven't already forgotten her in favor of the latest freak-show "news" story.

She might have done it. I'm guessing severe post-partum depression from the little nuggets I could glean from it.
 
It's pretty well understood that the woman will be investigated and charged if evidence is sufficient. Of course punishment is contingent upon a guilty verdict. I would think it's fairly obvious that "she should be tortured every day for the rest of her life" would apply under the pretense that she were actually guilty. I think before jumping to conclusions and lambasting the rest of the posters a bit of clarification might be asked for.

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm just a little appalled at the ease with which some folks contemplate boiling the flesh off a total stranger when they know so few of the facts.

That's my default position. I need evidence that a person is worthwhile before I can assume they don't have it coming.
 
This is stomach-turning. Even worse, it's not the first case of a parent murdering a child in a microwave. I can't imagine the depravity of one who could even think of such a thing, let alone actually do it. :(

I'm pretty sure she was spot on. Most of you already had GUILTY in your minds. You're just saving face...

I don't give a damn about some sick assed shrink saying she has post part-em depression or is mentally ill she needs do die for this.

I'm not the judge, jury, or executioner. In typing on a forum I tend not to provide every clause, subtext, and possibility when I make a statement. I really don't care about saving face, but I will point out the irony in being charged with jumping to conclusions when that very charge is made by jumping to conclusions.
