Um, no, the Kurds aren't, "his own people". Do some research.

And his attacking across the border was no longer a consideration.
Because there was a no fly zone to prevent it from happening.

What country are the Kurds in? Do I really need to show you they are in Iraq, and that they are not a separate country? Seriously, if you don't know this, you should never tell anyone to do research.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

No, a complete separate issue. Saddam had his ass handed to him and was no longer a threat to attack anyone outside.

    For overview purposes:

When Operation Desert Storm ended in 1991, the safety of Kurds who were fleeing from Iraqi persecution from the south became an issue, and Operation Provide Comfort began. This operation essentially created a Northern NFZ to Iraqi military aircraft. The operation provided the Kurdish population with humanitarian aid and reassurance of safe skies.

    Also protected some Shiite.

    Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria.

He was no longer a threat, because he was being heeled by the no-fly zone. If he hadn't continued to be a threat, there would have been no reason for a no-fly zone.

Yo, that is stupid. No one claims there are no kurds anywhere else in the world. Just as we can find Americans in other countries. But the Kurds who are Iraqis are his people, and these are the kurds we're talking about. Again, you really shouldn't be telling anyone to do some research.

No, he was no longer a threat because he had his ass kicked. We were only protecting his people. Nothing more.

Did you look at the map and notice that the souther NFZ covered the Kuwaiti and Saudi borders? Coincidence? I think not.

You may also want to do some more research and discover that there are no Kurds living in the south.

His army was still intact. Remember? It's the same army we faced in 2003.
