Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gathering

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I can actually see BO making these exact same jokes at pretty much any Dem gathering. Good lord...the things some people will feign outrage about.

I thought the audiences biggest laughs were at the 'W' pictures.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

This guy was lot funnier than the real Obama.

I dont know...he was sort of on a roll at the Press dinner...I thought he did a good job.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

Heheh, the GOP bringing out the PC thought police, eh?

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

It was the GOP leadership that gave the guy the hook, so they saw something they didn't like in his routine.

Or they saw that people like you would make a ****ing stink out of it, and yanked him to avoid it.

All one of him? Sorry, can't blame this on anyone but republicans.

We can see so much evidence of that here.

How is it again that this is even a story?

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I'd like to see the rest. One would have to be really uptight to take offense at what is in the video you posted.

Just did some research. Seems the reason the took him off the stage is because he was turning the jokes on the Republicans.

yes, because a Republican posted this and implied racism.

FAIL, Redress.

And is getting no support from the rest of the liberals here.

FAIL, Whovian.

In fairness...it was after all a PETE that posted it and several liberals here have ridiculed his normal blatant partisan attack.

Blame what on Republicans??

Jesus. What thread are you reading?? Please quote me from the OP this implication of racism you see. Goooood grief!!

That he was pulled off stage.

I must be culturally damaged - I din't get the Kardashian joke

The Kardashian girls like to marry black basketball players.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

Found it more funny than offensive. That said, I can understand why a GOP group would take the guy off stage because ultimately it was a political function and god knows there's always that potential for something like that to be spun to be worse than it was.

You mean here as in this thread? or here as in this website? Because I am sure that there are cases on both sides of the isle making more of an issue than needs to be...It's called politics. But, I ofcourse think it is more prevalent on the liberal side.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

A phrase coined by a liberal columnist for the LA Times....You really are being dishonest here.

j-mac

Sure it's a phrase...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_the_Magic_Negro

"Barack the Magic Negro"[2] is a song by American political satirist Paul Shanklin

Republicans liked the obscure article written a year before the election so much that they even wrote a song about it...

In turn they liked that song so much that they started sending themselves copy of the song.. for Christmas

Chip Saltsman, a candidate for chairman of the Republican National Committee, sent out CDs containing the song to 168 other RNC members as a Christmas gift, hoping to bolster his 2009 campaign for RNC chair. The move backfired, Saltsman dropped his bid to head the RNC, and ultimately African American Republican Michael Steele won the chairmanship.

Who is being dishonest here? The liberal who asserted that for Republicans think humor is calling Barack Obama the magic Negro or the Republicans who keep saying they thought the phrase was so funny that they needed to make a song about it?

Obama impersonator booted from GOP gig

Tough act for fake Obama

A COMEDIAN impersonating President Barack Obama and hired to perform at the Republican Leadership Conference was less than a raging success. Reggie Brown (above) opened his act by joking about Mr Obama's family history.

The audience, which was nearly entirely white, watched with befuddlement as the impersonator told them to look into the future to see what the Obamas would look like when they were retired. An image of a feuding husband and wife from the TV show Sanford and Son was flashed on screens.

He also made derogatory jokes about Republicans Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty and Newt Gingrich before his hosts interrupted him with loud music and escorted him from the stage, cutting his act.

Seems the GOP can't laugh at themselves. Once the jokes were about them, they yanked the guy off the stage faster than Weiner yanks off his skivvies on the Internet.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I don't see anything wrong with anything he said. Mentioning race is not the same thing as being racially insensitive or racist.

But, he's making fun of Obama. Therein lies the difference.

Republicans were making fun of The Messiah.

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

Republicans were making fun of The Messiah.
Is that why Republicans pulled him off the stage, cutting his act short?

Re: Obama impersonator pulled offstage after making racial, gay jokes at GOP gatherin

I don't get why they pulled him. To be honest I didn't find him terribly original, but I don't think he was offensive. And he has the voice and mannerisms down pat.

Those were some pretty mild jokes, really.

I get why. Did you see the end when they cut him short? It came following a jab at Romney and Pawlenty and mid-stream into Bachmann. What the hell was he thinking? You can't make fun of the GOP in front of the GOP ... they have no tolerance.
