Weiner to resign after sexting scandal, source says

Ensign lied many times, as did Vitter.. your "outrage" is so freaking partisan and hypocritical. Vitter is STILL in Congress, and he was fully backed by his GOP buddies, many of who used the same house in DC where Vitter had his "encounters". Ensign seems to have used campaign funding and political influence to help his mistress. Romney also seems to be up in his neck on issues of voter fraud, unless you seriously believe that Romney lives in his sons basement while having 2 x 10+ million houses in California and NH.

Why is it the right complains and bitches about the democratic scum but never of their own... in fact they more than often defend their own scum.. remember the paedophile US congressman from Florida that for years if not over a decade was known to hunt young congressional pages? What did the GOP leadership do.. stand by the idiot at the start at least. Or Bob Ney, a convicted criminal, who sat in his seat to the day he was thrown in jail... Or Cunningham and the repercussions of that conviction. When the GOP starts to denounce and kick their own crap out the door then maybe we can take the whining and partisan bitching remotely serious.

Oh yes...you can see im just absolutely TRIPPING over myself with outrage...even though I have never suggested he should resign. Oh...and that WAS me pointing out Larry Craigs indescretions in previous Weiner threads and calling for him to step down. You are funny...but not in a laugh WITH you kind of way...

Outrage? Look in the mirror you silly person...

Why is it that people can be such dicks on the internet?

Oh thanks, I forgot about toilet Craig... and congrats you called for his resignation, now you just need to do the same for Vitter. Sadly your GOP friends only call for the resignation of Democrats and not their own who do the same or worse... aka the GOP are a bunch of hypocrites.

I ceded the point about the prostitution...and when I call for Weiners resignation, I'll make sure I include Vitter. You missed the part where I dont CARE. Personally I want him to stick around...if nothing else for the pure comedic gold.

Now wipe the rabid drool of your chin already...you are embarassing yourself.

Personally, it's stupid that this is being made a partisan issue. He's behaved like a complete fool, and Weiner did that all on his lonesome.

"Weiner pulls out"

the headlines write themselves.

Sad? No. Hilarious? Yes, that such a juvenile Congressman has taken 3 weeks and intense pressure from both political parties AND required the President to weigh in before doing the right thing. I'm wondering if the guy was ever taught:

Responsibility
Accountability
Right / Wrong

Glad he finally has enough courage to step down, but oh what a gift he would have been politically if he'd stayed.

weiner.. get a grip(but not too hard itll go purple).. then take your toy and go home..

so futhermore, all politicians shall be held to this standard.. right? we're all in agreement on this?

Dumbass should have resigned when the story first broke. I'm glad he's gone. Did you all hear the heckling in the background? LOL

I'm sure there are plenty of hypocrites but VanceMack has been logical and consistent in this thread. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, did not appear with him.

Weiner had repeatedly told people that Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton who returned early Wednesday from a week-long State Department trip to Africa, wanted him to fight back and was involved in his political comeback.

But multiple sources described a very different perspective on the part of Abedin, who’s pregnant with their first child. Abedin spent extensive time consulting with Doug Band, Bill Clinton’s top adviser and her best friend, and Band’s wife, sources said, as she tried to make sense of the circumstances her husband had thrust her into. Other sources used one word to described Band and his wife: “Disgusted.”

Abedin reportedly was with Band when she watched Weiner’s press conference admitting his lewd messaging and lying last Monday.

The Clintons, the sources said, and their extended world, are furious and want no contact with Weiner. But they are deeply supportive and protective of Abedin, whom Clinton called a “second” daughter when he officiated her wedding.

“They are livid,” said one source affiliated with Hillary Clinton.

I say leave him alone, in the grand scheme of things its none of our business.
Seems like they were all adults..
of course he had to resign though

I think the Dems are holding the trophys on this behavoir, wonder what that says,
if anything

You should feel nasty just surfing for those pictures...

LOL, just google them by name, and voila!

How humiliating to have those pictures as the first images that pop up for your name.

Im guessing 'Safe Search' is engaged...

Huh...it must sting a little when it is someone elses little girl getting drug through the mud. I wonder if they can relate to how the Lewinsky family felt...

Two things come to mind after reading this article. The first is the Clintons and their extended world are furious and want no contact with Weiner. They are livid? Does that include Bill Clinton? What does he have to be furious about? His escapades were much worse than Weiners. Hello, remember Monica? How dare he!

The second is the immediate problem for Weiner now having a lack of income, especially with his first child on the way because he has no private sector experience. Hello? And people elected him to help lead the country without any practical work experience? So he can't do much more than be an elected official? Sound familiar? No wonder the USA is in such bad shape with career politicians. Where does he think he should "land" without any experience?
