    Moral of the story people:

If your going to be a freak, dont get married. Im sure Mrs. Weiner's divorce lawyer is going to have a field day with this case.

Five guys. Okay. How many politicians are there in the state legislature? And how many congressmen does New York have?

In Patterson's case he and his wife admitted to cheating on one another and he put it out there before he started his job as official Governor. Unless your referring to the World Series tickets scandal.

They're all from New York CITY. And one is the mayor who followed the mayor who turned out to be client No. 9. Another was the CHAIR of the Ways and Means committee, and he's in trouble for tax evasion, for gawd's sake. Then you've got two representatives taking nudies of themselves for the internet.

C'mon. This has happened over the past 2-3 years.

    1. How many members are there in the New York State Senate and Assembly?
The State Senate has 62 members. The State Assembly has 150 members.
    Regarding the U.S. House:
    33.New York..................29
So that's 244 representatives or elected officials, including New York's two senators and governor.

    So 5 of 244 is 2% approximately.

    Now, in the private sector:
22 percent of married men have strayed at least once during their married lives.
14 percent of married women have had affairs at least once during their married lives.
    So...there ya go.

Does taking naughty pictures inhibit your ability to clock in at 8 and clock out at 5, answer phones, respond to e-mails, etc?

If Weiner can do his job he should stay. If he has to take a leave of absence and is unable to perform his job then he should go. I really don't care about his foibles within his marriage. It isn't my marriage, it isn't a marriage to his country or constituents.
If you cannot keep your word to the person in your life you've pledge in front of God and Family that you would be faithful too...

How can we trust you with other important matters? Cheating shows that said person is incapable of keeping their word, that if it benefits them, they'll do it.

It's a lack of integrity that's the issue.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

What? do you think it is appropriate for a 40 something year old man to be even in the position of having the accusation leveled, especially when he is supposed to be representing a district of people and their concerns in Congress?

    1. Why should they be held to a higher standard? And if they should be, why aren't they thoroughly vetted beforehand to determine if they have any likelihood or instance of such behavior? Do you expect your boss to be absolutely perfect, making no mistakes or ill-conceived decisions? Being a paradigm of virtue isn't realistic for anybody but nuns and monks, and even they screw up on occasion.
You don't have any standards of behavior for whom you vote for? really? They are supposed to be vetted by the media, throughout their campaign, but increasingly we have learned through practice that the so called media has an agenda as well.

As to my boss, and the company I work for, I am pretty sure that if it was out in the news that he was sexting nude pics to multiple women, and possibly an underage girl, then yeah, he'd be out in a NY second.

    2. I wouldn't describe his actions as perverted. Inappropriate? Yeah.
You think sending pics of your junk turns women on? heh, not hardly...But it is perverted. It is the modern day equivalent of flashing.

    3. When I say "lead the country" I was referring to the fact that, as an elected official, he takes the lead (along with other elected officials) in determining the course of the country. That's just a semantics thing.
Yet, you believe that people in those positions of power have no obligation to any kind of moral standards?

    4. The two questions I posed were an attempt to draw Weiner's actions down to a private-sector scenario. With any private citizen, this type of behavior would be a non-issue. Nobody would ever know and they would continue doing their job as they always had. Being in the public light strips your right to privacy away from you because we have a perverse obsession with invading and investigating every aspect of the person.
First off, you can't compare some middle management slug to a US Congressman. If anything, the comparison would be between an executive of a company, and I can assure you that a scandal of this nature would result in immediate termination.

    5. If he had not taken a leave of absense I would not call for his resignation unless he is proven to have done something illegal. Since he has taken a leave of absence and clearly displayed he is not capable of performing the duties of his job at this time, he should resign. I already said that.
the calls for resignation were out before this lame attempt.

    6. Any code of ethics for elected officials should relate to the abuse of power, abuse of funds, theft of services, theft of time, acceptance of gifts, etc. It should have nothing to do with what happens in their personal lives unless those actions result in the violation of a crime. Then, the crime's legal punishments should be weighed in consideration of continued public service.
Abuse of power, and abuse of time, and services are all in play here. We already know that some of the pics were taken in the Congressional gym, and the phone calls were made from his Congressional phone. That is using time, and services for this crap. As for power, you don't think that a Congressman uses his position to sext women is an abuse of power?

    7. The 8-5 thing was a reference to the private sector, in line with those two questions I asked. Grasping at straws to dismantle an opinion is kind of weak, no offense.
No offense taken, we are just talking here, however, I am not grasping at straws either. I am offering an opinion of how any congressman should be treated in his position.
