The only power you have is what government gives you. When it is gone, you are gone. And you become the property of the new corporate America. Why do you think Black Water & several other corporate groups like them exist? Why were they in New Orleans? Why are they in ME?

That maybe true Lew. Compare steak to corporate gruel. Which is your meal? I am pointing out the in-your-face arrogance as corporate America strips away workers rights. Surely you recognize that capitalism is a corporate tool, wherein the top have the control, and profits come about by making everything cheaper, including what they pay for labor.

What many miss here, you canbe a corporate slave, where what you produce goes to other countries. There is no need for American slaves to be consumers, just be docile slaves like the "Company Store." And exist in the greatest land of resources.

i believe that the congregated wealth of corporations is as dangerous as the congregated power of government.
i don't feel the need to be a slave to either one, though.

Did you miss the republicans wanting to remove child labor laws, and throw them back into the cheap workforce. It doesn't matter what party is doing it, your human rights are what matters. And part of those human rights is freedom to assemble and jointly bargain for wages, whether that be GM workers or Chavez in a tomato field.

And the opposite of being enslaved is freedom, so how can anyone cheer workers losing their freedoms to bargaining rights?

That is quite true in many ways, including the civilians to be placed above their corporate power, such as Free National Health Care, free cable TV, 200+ highways & rails, etc. before oil wars in the ME.

Not you! We are not in a box. Recall Global domination over worker wages. China is on the rise, Europe will buy our trinkets. This nation would survive without 1 consumer. Except it will be a Corporate run government not stopped by regulations like monopolies to take everything over, lock stock & barrel, including you, future slave. You will work for whatever they tell you, and offer up the corporate store. No need for taxes, just labor for value, like a cup of soup for 4 hours labor.

in favor of what? government cronies manipulating labor to line their own pockets? the union bosses may as well be corporate CEO's.

Non union state workers already have a method for influencing their bosses.
They can vote for them.
They don't need another level of influence, like the monetary supporter of an organized union to advance their careers.

The rest of the tax paying public does not get to vote for their employers, who promise pay raises, relaxed hours or greater benefits.
It's completely wrong to allow state employees, who can already vote, to unionize.
Who are they being protected against, themselves?

I was Union all my working years, about 25 years, until I retired at 45. I have two relatives that are Union representatives, and I fail to find any of your accusations accurate. They are paid worker scale wages & the same benefits as I made. Only difference they were representing us to make our life better, and we were working. Where is the blood Lew? You should realize that Unions are about making workers life's better & more secure in the workplace. Why would anyone resent that? Here we have a capitalist nation, and people are decrying workers making money & benefits & having a secure future. What the heck do you work for Lew? To give your boss your money, never have anything and die at a young age? Do you bend over when the boss tells you to work for less?

In your opinion how would that happen? How would corporate America "take over"? In your mind is "corporate America" the same thing as the "federal government"? Is it a single entity with a President? Where does "corporate America" get its power? How would it make me do anything?
