US diver on maverick mission to find Bin Laden's body

BBC News - US diver on maverick mission to find Bin Laden's body

Mr Warren, who runs a California-based salvage company and has worked on 200 ship wrecks, told the BBC he had "some doubts" as to whether Osama Bin Laden was dead because the US government had not showed any images of the body.
    Seriously?

I suppose there's the chance that he'll also find Obama's "real" Birth Certificate and the "truth" about 9/11.

Quite a coup for him if he pulls it off... but it doesn't seem likely. Big ocean, small Osama.

i'm okay wit this. Money has been wasted on stupider things.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

This story is a prime candidate to be moved to either Conspiracies or Weird News.

I don't see the point of this.

Let's say Obama wasn't killed, only captured, Either way he's out of the picture, and that is the only thing that really counts, isn't it?
