All I said was I don't like the idea of telling little kids that it is somehow normal. I wouldn't tell them that circus
clowns are normal either, and the way you all act I am beginning to wonder if I could tell a child that Liberals are normal.

I agree. Pride movements are usually indirect response to other social movements meant to shame people. Black pride, gay pride, etc. - it's all about responding to homophobes and racists. Once homosexuality is accepted, the pride movements will decrease.

I'm for telling them the truth with only the information appropriate to their age. No need to do anything else.

Gay pride parades are to gay people as clown parades are to strait people. I thought this was kinda self evident.

I was at Hyde Park, London, a few years ago and started seeing people wearing very strange things. I thought to myself "Holy crap, this is what London is like?". I was relieved to discover there was a gay pride/fest that weekend.

I think that more than one definition of "normal" is being used.

sorting that out may help the debate progress

Is there another way to say what you mean by the word "normal"? Now might be the time to be explicit.

My one trip into London, and I saw a goth dude out walking his girlfriend on a leash.

I had a similar experience in Berkeley CA years nad years and years ago. When I first arrived I noticed the outlandish dress and behavior of the locals. And I thought, "Wow! this isn't KS anymore." I was relieved to discover that it was a bunch of craziness because it was a day ending in y.

I'm sure you and your defenders of bestiality brethren would for sure. The rest of us are worried. I mean, if I marry a cow....can I eat my children? Or is that gonna be illegal? Is milking considered domestic abuse?

I don't care what they do but I don't need to hear about it or see it in a parade.

Personally I wouldn't care. But you're comparing apples to oranges. Heterosexuals are not the ones that are being kept from marrying the one that they love.
