Michele Bachmann announces presidential campaign

I loved her ludicrous claim that 800,000 jobs will BE KILLED, and she cited the CBO report, which actually said simply that people who are currently working just for healthcare purposes will leave the labor force on their own.

What was the context? Or, are you afraid to tell us?

Ohhhhhh, Obamacare will kill 800,000 jobs. I see. Well, isn't the current projection much higher than that?

Read the link. It's not going to kill any jobs. Some people who are currently working just to get healthcare will leave the labor force on their own. You have proven that you are a total partisan hack and a failure at debating anything.

Oh, so they want get on welfare because they lost their job, they'll get on welfare voluntarily? That's an awesome future to look forward too. Can't wait!!

I guess she'll bring entertainment to America at least...

Maybe it will get folks off Palins ass. lol. NOT! They both make for wonderful humor:)

I used to know somebody that adopted a kid, and she'd always point out it was adopted... and she did it constantly, even when it wasn't a topic, and she'd tell strangers that. I felt really bad for the the child because of that. Why always point that out, and right in front of the kid? I wonder how she'd feel if somebody said to her adopted child, "you have a nice mom," and she'd respond, "well, she's not actually my mom."

That would bother me too. Kind of reminds me of two (not one but two) couples I know that always have to point out their foster kids. I get if it comes up in questions, conversations, etc. But to point that out from jump? It bugs me:(

I haven't seen many other women politicians do that.... it's mostly Conservative women, because it's code for "I am pro life." That's how the religious right expects women to be. If you're vagina is a clown car, you're presidential material... and they love Palin even more because she had a special needs child.

In fact, a Palin fan eluded to Palin being "more of a woman" than me a few minutes ago... I have seen Rush and other talking heads make similar points.

My goodness if they go on that? Michelle Duggar should be our 1st Female Prez.:2razz:

JimBob would never allow that though as he must be King at all times.

No son, there hasn't been a GOP President who could be called an intellectual since.... well 30 years.

Clinton was Rhodes Scholar, Obama graduated top of his class, Jimmy Carter graduated near the top of his class.

Reagan never made it past a BA, Bush Sr got a BA in economics, Bush Jr got a degree in history...

Again, as I've stated many times, the right doesn't have an intellectual leader to save its soul. Mostly bumpkins who barely make it through school and get by based on popularity.

The right wing in this country and many others survives based on the support of farmers and country folks. Don't like it? Take it up with Nixon. The last intellectual in the GOP. He decided to try something called "The Southern Strategy".

All the Presidents you mentioned have been well educated, but it's well known that the supporters of the Democrats tend to be unhappy, earn less than Republicans and are poorly educated. And anyone who would claim Jimmy Carter is an intellectual could be used as evidence of that last fact.

Oh really? According to whom?

Yeah, rich people vote Republican. But is that any surprise? The GOP is practically owned by big business.

In terms of education, you're a bit off the mark. People who never went to college tend to vote Republican, and people who are post grads tend to vote Democrat. In terms of undergrad students, it depends on how you ask the question. But having an undergrad degree these days is almost like having a HS diplomna in the 60's.

You'd be unhappy too if you lived in the age of trying to move back to the 1800's.

Actually, I think she'll be a wonderful candidate.
Politicians are for entertaining the public, and so far, she has entertained me very much.
Hence, she's a great politician, so she's a great candidate

Will be fun to watch the two "Mama Grizzlies" fighting each other.

You literally just expressed support for the murder of millions of people.
Why do you think that?
Do you believe that the use of one or more nuclear weapons to destroy hardened facilities would result in more than a few thousands of appropriate deaths? I would not object to killing the people who work in the facilities along with damaging the facilities themselves to the point where Iran would have to start over.

Of course we are working on regime change. Our 2012 elections are coming fast. One we have replace the one term president Obama perhaps we can prevent the Iranians from building nuclear weapons. But first America needs regime change.

Oh really? According to whom?

According to anyone with eyes to see, anyone with ears to hear. Consider...

Socially conservative and disadvantaged Democrats are among the least educated and lowest earning ideological demographics. In 2005, only 15% had a college degree, compared to 27% at the national average and 49% of liberals, respectively. Together socially conservative and the financially disadvantaged comprised roughly 54% of the Democratic base.[22] The continued importance of the working class votes manifests itself in recent CNN exit polls, which shows that the majority of those with low incomes and little education vote for the Democratic Party.

Democratic Party (United States) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

It is a long known fact that demo's tend to pander to the poor, with promises of a better life through their representation, however that life seems to never fully blossom...

Yeah, rich people vote Republican. But is that any surprise? The GOP is practically owned by big business.

I am in no way financially rich, yet I vote conservative/republican....Your meme is tired and false.

In terms of education, you're a bit off the mark. People who never went to college tend to vote Republican, and people who are post grads tend to vote Democrat.

That may be true anecdotally, however I don't think there has been any kind of empirical study showing the trend of these people through say a generation or 20 years.

When a collage grad is entering their career life straight out of collage, is it any wonder that with the 4 + year indoctrination of liberal viewpoint, and slanted education toward Marxist ideology that they tend to lean that way? I'd be interested to see where they are after being subject to the "real world" for a number of years....I'd be willing to bet they don't buy half the crap that progressive professors hoisted upon them anymore.

But having an undergrad degree these days is almost like having a HS diplomna in the 60's.

Another great testament as to how liberal indoctrination instead of teaching solid unbiased information has screwed us as a nation...Thanks libs.

You'd be unhappy too if you lived in the age of trying to move back to the 1800's.

So why are liberals trying so hard to move us back there? Wind? Solar? There are a myriad of issues where the liberals would love to see us living like our ancestors.

Obama would crush Bachmann.. I have seen polls in her home state where she would lose to Obama by 20 points lol. If people in her own state cant stand her, then I doubt the rest of the country will either.

It is a long road to the GOP primary, and even longer to the general election. I wouldn't place too much bravado on polls this early, not to mention the source of the polling.

That's not possible, especially not when his own party is so disorganized

you're talking about obama?

don't deflect

but since you brought it up---he's head of his party, leading and managing his caucus is one of a successful president's many responsibilities

hello

Bachmann didn't adopt kids. She's had 23 foster kids and 5 of her own.

They don't vote as a block, the way Republicans do.

in the senate all 60 dems voted for obamacare, in the house 218 of 252

the stimulus passed the house with 244 dems for it and 11 opposed, in the senate the stim enjoyed blue support 60 to 0

Compare several Obama statements, and Bachmann statements

well, since YOU ASKED...

i don't know if trying to move ksm to a civil trial in downtown manhattan before the likes of lance ito is crazy or not

but, in the context of united states, if not new york politics, it's awful dumb

so is suing the PEOPLE of arizona for trying to do the feds' job, derelict now for decades, for them

intruding into a local mosque debate in new york is kinda weird

and thinking you might possibly effect positive change in iran by personally meeting with its leaders is downright loony

and these aren't just comments, they're official white house policy

a really expensive example:
