Palin's official Alaska emails to be released

Re: Alaska governor's office to release Palin e-mails

Some folks are talkin about Mr. Obama as if he were never a senator.

It's just good clean fun... helping bring a few back into the fold of thoughtful reason.

It turned out to be "good clean fun" but that certainly wasn't the intention.

If they realized how good this made Sarah Palin look they never would have requested to see them.

Re: Alaska governor's office to release Palin e-mails

He's not. He's the Chosen One.

The funniest thing is that I've NEVER seen those words from a Liberal. The only people I've ever seen call him "The Chosen One" is Cons.

Of course, he was chosen. By 52% of the voters in 2008.

Do any of these people remember why?

There must be a lot of voter's remorse,

Keep dogging Palin in the news. It only makes her stronger. Dems can't see that they've tipped their hand to the they're most fearful of.

Yeah, the Left is just making her look better and better because, it seems, they cannot respond with any real intelligence.. She's 'stupid', a 'moron', etc. and that only reminds people of how intellectually lazy they and their leaders are.

Actually, I think that comes from Mr. Arrogant himself, when he proclaimed that "he was the one that everyone has been waiting for..." or something to that effect.

You can switch from "undisclosed", now. And welcome aboard. :)

I do not like this woman. But why should her e-mails be published? I would dislike it if someone did that to me.

I didn't exactly hang on his every word, but I don't recall this being said. Find it and post it.

I got it slightly wrong, he said "we" instead of "I" but the message is the same.

But what I find most intriguing is his rhetoric of destiny and “choseness.” He often makes it sound like he has been selected by forces of providence or God or simply history for this moment. He is, in Oprah’s words, “The One.” But even more interesting, he tells voters they are the ones. “This is it,” Obama proclaimed on Super Tuesday. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for, we are the change that we seek.” That’s pretty oracular stuff.

Tellingly, “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for” is some Native American spiritualism warmed up for New Age audiences.

It’s also telling that this divinization of the masses and/or the movement has a long pedigree, going back at least to the French Revolution. The Jacobins claimed that the French Nation represented the new “chosen people.” The Italian Fascists said the same thing about the Italians. The Nazis believed likewise about the Germans. The Bolsheviks, too, believed in their own predestination of sorts in that they believed the cold impersonal forces of history had conspired to produce the vanguard of the proletariat, or something like that, which had been vested by History with mission to create a new utopia. “On earth,” John Reed wrote of the Bolsheviks, “they were building a kingdom more bright than any heaven had to offer, and for which it was a glory to die.”

That's some pretty hefty reading into what he said. "We are the ones we've been waiting for" is not "I am the chosen one." It means if you're waiting for things to get better, stop waiting and do something. Included in the "we" is the audience, wouldn't you say?

And a source with the words "Liberal Facism" in the title is not exacly unbiased. Just saying that here's one guy's view. A guy who gets paid good money to think of bad things to say about Democrats. So he took a phrase that is classic political speak -- you hear what you want to hear. If you like Obama you hear "Be the change," and if you hate him you hear "I am the Messiah."

In other words, what I heard was him saying "Stop waiting. You're waiting for yourselves."

Well, it's a decent point, and Jonah Goldberg is an opinion from the right, so I wouldn't expect him to be giving a positive, or even a benefit of the doubt opinion in the case of Obama.

However, Obama's hubris isn't an isolated incident. Remember what Harry Reid wrote about Obama's response when Reid remarked on Obama's speaking skills...

Here:

In the epilogue, titled "The Obama Era," Reid writes that then-Sen. Obama "was in an entirely different class from the start," recalling "specific moments when Barack Obama came into focus as a national leader for the first time."

The Majority Leader recalls Obama as a freshman senator giving "an unusually fine speech" about President Bush's war policy.

“That speech was phenomenal, Barack,” Reid said.

"And I will never forget his response," Reid writes. "Without the barest hint of braggadocio or conceit, and with what I would describe as deep humility, he said quietly: 'I have a gift, Harry.' In the Bible, we are told that all men are given different gifts. And we see it in every field, from art to science, academia to athletics. Some are great; others are gifted. We were all about to learn just what a gift Barack Obama had."

Reid on Obama: 'An Entirely Different Class from the Start' - The World Newser

Now, you can say that Obama as with other Presidents has an 'A Type' personality, but this guy IMHO, is full of himself. Examples of this are never ending. From Oprah calling him "The One" to Women fainting at his campaign speeches, he displays a messiah complex. And the protruding chin, along with the arrogant professorial type information dropping when he speaks to the country as President, leaves him in my eyes as not a man that sees himself as a President of all the people. That much he has displayed in his actions as well.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. In other words, Harry Reid is likely a pretty biased source in favor of Obama. To be completely fair, we all have gifts from God. You'd have to be a very blind partisan to think that public speaking is not one of Obama's. He's a "well spoken black man" to quote the Veep.

Being full of yourself is pretty much par for the course for anyone who runs for President. Any candidate who seems like he isn't should get an Oscar, because that's one hell of an acting job.

Obama does sometimes seem like he's talking down to us, but the positive of that is that it's nice to think that maybe the President is smarter than I am. God knows his job is a lot tougher. I don't know where anybody got the idea that "I would have a beer with him" is a quality you want in the President. I'd love to have a beer with Bush. He seems like a guy who knows how to have a good time, and seems like a person I would like if I met him personally. However, I sure as hell wouldn't vote for any of my drinking buddies to be President. Great guys, love them to death, awesome to hang with and toss back a few...but not President.

You really do see what you want to see. Do you even consider the context? You bold "I have a gift, Harry," but somehow ignore the preceding sentence where Harry Reid explicitly said it was without any conceit. By the way, they're talking about speaking skills. You are translating "I am a gifted public speaker" to "PRESIDENT OF ALL THE PEOPLE." Jesus, dude, you even go on to base this accusation of conceit on how other people react to him. If Oprah called me "The One," how in the flying **** could that ever reflect on my personality?

You see a "protruding chin" as arrogant. Facial features are evidence of arrogance, now? Or maybe it's just the random photos of his chin stuck out. When you are video taped and photographed continuously on every public appearance, you can cherry pick photos to fit whatever talking point you want. Confirmation bias. Remember how Bush had all those doofy-faced photos? You're doing the same thing. Fox News is doing the same thing.

It's become pretty clear that Palin's friends redacted or withheld anything that made her look bad, and I'm betting they altered the emails that she wrote. There's no way a person who is that crazy in real life comes off sounding normal in emails.

so when do we get to hear about the good stuff about Palin?

Nothing significant was found. If anything, what was found showed that she really is as true and honest as she seems to be. A huge waste of money and a big ol' black eye on the faces of the liberals who hate her.

Yea, that's it. Someone edited 24000 emails. Your partisan hate for a woman who, even in her "secret" life, is as honest and caring as a day is long, is mindboggling.

You need to worry about the penis boy who won't take his penis and go home. Take care of your own before you worry about someone else.

"... a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama Lebanon, New Hampshire.
January 7, 2008.

"generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth". Obama's Nomination Victory Speech In St. Paul June 3, 2008.

""We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Barrack Obama. Frequently.

There is the possibility that she is not crazy and you have not considered all the facts.

If she was crazy, she probably wouldn't have the number of friends it would take to edit 24,000 emails. It took months to count hanging chads. A project like you described would probably take longer.
