I think it won't be long until we're talking about Newt in the past tense.

I see it as a good thing.

Newt is very intelligent, but that scandle of him cheating on his wife is more baggage than I can overlook.

Top Gingrich Aides Resign, Leaving Campaign in Question - FoxNews.com
Top aides to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich have resigned en masse, Fox News has learned, imperiling the Republican's 2012 presidential campaign at a crucial time.

Among the senior staff members Gingrich is losing are spokesman Rick Tyler and campaign manager Rob Johnson, along with other strategists. Insiders say Gingrich and senior aides were unable to agree on the direction of the campaign.

The exodus puts the former House speaker, who already had been struggling to rank in early GOP primary polls, in a tough spot. He was one of the first major candidates to officially launch his campaign, but several other GOP heavyweights have followed suit in recent weeks

Am I reading that right? Top "aides" to Gingrich's campaign are leaving, not just one aid? Wow!?!

I wonder what's really going on in the Gingrich camp?

I had almost forgot he was still running, to be honest.

I'm a bad conservative. :boohoo:

I'm hearing it's his entire team... they all just picked up and went. If his own team leaves this early into a campaign? Gingrich is done.

He had no chance. Just as Santorum has no chance. At least the Gingrich camp won't be wasting anyone's time moving forward. Santorum and a few others will stay deluded for a while longer.

I just saw an article where GOP consultants speculate that Newt's guys are jumping ship to team up with Rick Perry.

Ugh. Can't stand Perry. He's barely literate.

Can anyone think of a national campaign in recent political history that has self-destructed as quickly and as visibly as this one?

Does Newt even make it to Iowa?

Visibly? Howard Dean comes to mind.

I'm not having a Chris Matthews tingle up the leg feeling about anyone so far.

I do that 4 more years of Obama can't be allowed, or we're all going to find ourselves in a bind to say the least.

Maybe, but that wasn't nearly as quickly - voting had already started. Not to mention, I don't remember the series of terrible news stories that Newt has had
- False campaign start in March
- Flip-flop on Libya shortly thereafter
- Flip-flop on the Ryan plan; infuriated conservatives and then, when he flip-flopped, everyone else
- Tiffany's debt story
- 2 week vacation right as the campaign starts
- Now this

Dean was the one-time "front runner".

Newt has been the guy in the rear with the shovel from the beginning.

As bad as it looks Gingrich says he's not going to quit.

I think it would be good for others if he bailed now

Pawlenty Snatches Gingrich
When former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue went to bed Wednesday night, he was still in charge of Gingrich's campaign. By Thursday, he had been hired to join Pawlenty's "national efforts."

"Tim Pawlenty is a great man, he was a phenomenal governor, and he is the person I now believe stands the greatest chance of defeating President Obama," Perdue said in a Pawlenty campaign press release. "He is the only candidate who has laid out a real plan to grow the American economy, and his track record in Minnesota is proof he's the right man for the job."

Even in the face of all the talk and speculation Newt says he's going to stay and will participate in the up coming Debate.

He mast know something I can't see in his future, because I really can't see him in the Oval Office.

My guess is he won't be in the top 3 in the Iowa straw poll so he'll drop out then
