If there were as many folks counted as either working, or wanting to work, now as there was in 2007, the unemployment rate would be 11.2 % now.

Parts shortages from Japan ..... NOT !

The Evil GoP Premise is that tax cuts actually employ Americans instead of flowing to managements or stockholders or Chinese workers or bank deposits. Notice that the OP claimed that a payroll tax cut for business would not result in increased hiring of Americans. Maybe tax cuts only work if a Republican is President.

blaming Bush is all they got, and I mean ALL they got.

remember, it took a crackerjack team of democratic strategists to ride the Bush blame train to term 1.
and as bad as Bush's #'s were, and the fact that Bush wasnt even running, they still just barely did it..
My take is the race card tipped the scales, but I digress...

This team of strategists is not likely to change course unless there is some good news to turn to. Which there isnt.

realizing blaming Bush alone 4 years later might sound desperate, they are tossing in the "we are on the right track, dont turn back now" slogan..

its grasping at straws, but as I said, its ALL they got

get into the mind of the strategists, and you realize its all smoke and mirrors, on both sides

They aren't blaming Bush, no matter how much the dumb media tries to continue to say that's what Obama is doing. After the repub debate last night CNN interviewed Obama's campaign director why he continues to blame Bush when all the guy was saying was "The canidates here aren't purposing any new fixes and those fixes did nothing for 10years."

We were hemorrhaging jobs when he took the office. We aren't anymore.

CP, your graph doesn't have the great depression on it. The comparison is useless since this "recession" was caused by nearly same finical meltdown that created the great depression.

not only did barack the slasher hussein promise he would cut the deficit in half in 4 years

not only did his team assure us that unemployment would peak at 8% with the passage of that obscene stimulus

in addition, joblessness today, according to the infamous romer-bernstein projection used to sell the stimulus to congress and the american people, is supposed to be about 6.5%

Romer and Bernstein on stimulus - NYTimes.com

gdp, per romer-bernstein, would today be 3.7%, based on white house promises of the beneficial consequences of that 862B boondoggle the white house let pelosi write

unfortunately, the truth is: Q1 GDP: 1.8%/CNBC

phrases the white house doesn't want to hear: "historically weak recovery"

    "double dip"

    don't turn on cnbc

Corporations have done a great job of exporting jobs. Think of where we'd be if not for McDonald's, Wal-Mart, and Choice Hotels.

In case you haven't notice, there are 2 million more unemployed people now, than there were this time last year.
