A liberal to a conservative is anyone that does not agree with them personally.

Let's put it like this for YOU. Your comment demonstrates that you don't know what you are talking about. Educate yourself on Mennonites and pacifism and perhaps you will understand that this is not a left-right issue. Unless, of course, you are a hack and NEED it to be a left-right issue.

I personally disagree with their stance and decision, but after reading about it, I understand why they did it. I don't see this as disrespecting the soldiers who have given them the freedom to do this. It is a private school so as long as it is on their property, they are free to do as they wish.

Not all universities, even public ones, play the national anthem before all sporting events. Why should this be a big deal that football games (if they even have them) at Goshen won't be preceded by the national anthem?

I think there reasoning is pretty foolish. The Anthem doesnt promote war-it describes the efforts and actions required of patriots to preserve freedoms that they now enjoy to be able to make this declaration. That being said...that people are foolish in their interpretations doesnt invalidate the actions of those that fight to preserve liberty. So...good on them and hopefully those pacifists will never ever be confronted with an individual bent on causing them or their loved ones physical harm. Im certain if that occurs they will lay down and take it like...well...like good little pacifists.

It actually doesn't even go that far (actions required today). It tells of a past war that was real. One that established our Independence. Yet, Mennonites are free to do as they choose. Maybe they would be willing to use "America the Beautiful" instead.

Of COURSE they are. And they are free to BE wrong.

Sorry...not a fan of pacifism. Good for them....doesnt work for me. Read Ghandis letter to Churchill on a potential Nazi invasion. You dont find peace by allowing your enemy to kill you and beat and rape your women and drive your survivors over the cliffs of Dover.

Again...that being said...free to choose. Notice...I didnt call them names, didnt call for sanctions against their school, etc. I am fine with agreeing to disagree.

That's pretty much the truth of it.

Here's another librul who should get the right all riled up:

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth... Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy... Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matt 5:5-9.

"Put your sword back into its place; for those who live by the sword, die by the sword. Matt 26:52.

"But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same." Luke 6:27-32

"See that none render evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men." I Thessalonians 5:15
