Just five weeks after Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden, there are reports today out of northwest Pakistan that a U.S. missile strike has killed Ilyas Kashmiri, a notorious terrorist and one of the world's most wanted men.

If true, it would be another giant coup for U.S. intelligence. Unlike bin Laden, who was hiding in a compound, U.S. officials say, Kashmiri was actively involved in plotting and directing attacks.

This is the guy who was going to replace bin Laden as the leader of al Qaeda, which is now considering a name change to "Pwned by the USA".

On another note, this brings hope to followers of Jack Kevorkian. The idea of assisted suicide didn't die with him. If you want to end your life, you can do it legally. Just volunteer to become the new leader of al Qaeda, and badaboom, it's done. LOL.

Article is here.

This is maybe the fifth time they've killed the number 2 guy in al Qaeda! It's gotten to the point now that if you live in Afghanistan or Pakistan and someone really pisses you off all you need to do is tell your local CIA operative that the guy you can't stand is the number 2 in al Qaeda. Boom! He's gone.

He wasn't the number two guy. He was the new number one guy, and we took his ass out quickly. And it has nothing to do with "Gee, we don't like him, so we'll kill him". He was the point man, who actively directed attacks on American interests. I hope the next number one guy gets taken out just as quickly, and the one after that, and the one after that, until al Qaeda gets the message that, every time they get a new leader:

1) We will find out who he is.

2) We will go in.

3) We will kill him.

4) We will leave.

5) Finally, we will leave behind a scale model of the middle finger from the Statue of Liberty.

I'd heard he was a long shot to replace bin Laden. That he wasn't as high up as the media is portraying him. He was a "possible" replacement. But then again, he was on a list of 5 most wanted, so screw that, he was high enough up to justify a missile up his ass.

Nonetheless, he got a down-home welcome from the USA, courtesy of those hellfire missiles people on here have said were "outdated."

Image at link is NSFW (I'd make that red, but I don't know how).

and another one bites the dust...

excellent. I wonder if the intel to his pos came from the OBL raid.

Good thing we didn't capture him, and then, ya know... treat him meanly to find out what he knows, make sure he's the right guy and give him a trial to ensure he's really guilty. Nah, better to kill him with a drone!

(This is me, being sarcastic btw, just in case people assume I pulled a Dan and went left)

I thought this was you, trying desperately to change the topic away from another US success. Lord knows we cannot have the US do something right while Obama is still president.

Yes, because the sarcasm was obviously aimed at President Obama removing from this good Earth another scum bag terrorist by continuing Bush Era Policies.

Ya I was watching the Killing of Bin Laden lastnight on Discovery Channel and they said that the wealth of actionable intel captured in the OBL raid is pretty much a death blow for AQ which is far more valuable than the death of OBL itself.

The hits to Al Qaeda just keep on coming. Good times, good times!

Lets see, GW method of getting OBL, attack Iraq. Obama's method of going after OBL going to Pakky where OBL was at. GW's method of going after terrorist, don't offend Pakky, give them more money and don't attack Al Queda in Pakky. Obama's method, F)*^&^ Pakky, send troops in.

Yeah, I see GW's continuance of policy.

I was pointing out how instead of talking about the topic, you desperately tried to change the subject instead of saying something like "good job".

I'm sowwy, did I hurt your wittle feewings?

How many times can anyone here recall Redress stepping into a thread bashing a conservative who did something right and giving us this line of bull**** "Stop guys, this thread is about something that's good..."

You are an embarrassment to this site, has anyone ever told you that?

1. EXCELLENT news to hear this guy was taken out.

2. Further shows that counter terrorism can be accomplished without 100k+ troops overseas.

I call partisan nonsense.

And you continue to try and avoid the topic. It's not hurting my feelings, it's kinda amusing and sad. Some people are so scared of good news for America they have to try and turn anything good that happens into something else.

Perhaps Al Qaeda will learn NOT to announce who their next leader is --- or not and be blown to bits from the ether.

I think we all gave him credit.

Sweet! They aren't going to have many more top dudes left soon!

LOL, never mind that the CIA operation that killed bin Laden began years before Obama was elected. And never mind that we're STILL giving $3 billion a year to Pakistan.

But carry on if it makes you feel better.

I guess it would depend on how much money Pakistan wanted for letting the raid happen like they didn't know. Bush thought it wasn't worth the money and Obama did.
